Went for it, overestimating how good they were, actually if Nabokov played well they would have lost in the 1st round, now they pay the price

Yup, in most cases when you go for it it doesn't work out. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch.

well at least they stayed healthy and didnt get hurt too much.. look what NYR gave for a few games of Clowe.. been hurt twice after they traded for him.. i hope he comes back on a cheap deal but i wouldnt be shocked if he is gone somewhere else :help: NYR gave up a lot of him. so i guess that was just a rumor of him having a contract in place when the trade was made?? :help:

http://snyrangersblog.com/2012-13-players/ryane-clowe/read-the-ryane-clowe-situation-moving-forward/

After he was acquired by the Rangers, the belief was that Clowe would stay and that the Rangers and his agents discussed the framework of a potential new contract.

Yeah, I thought we gave up a bit much for Clowe...particularly that they were able to extract another 2nd rounder in the even we were to re-sign him. But Pitt essentially dealt 2 1st rounders for their rentals...which is obviously a lot more than a 2nd and a 3rd.

They blame Blysma, but Shero assembled this Titanic of a roster

Titanic of a roster?

They made it 1 round further than us, final 4 teams in the NHL.

The Rangers during the early 2000's were titanic rosters.

The Penguins failed because their D wasn't very good at handling the Bruins forecheck to transition to their forwards AND, Vokoun sucked early in the series AND, the Bruins are playing the best hockey theyve literally ever played since Ive been watching them play.

Vokoun didn't suck. His team forgot to play defense.

No chemistry is what I meant

Bruins just better, Voukon was a little above average, their defensemen are slow and immobile

And if they aren't slow and immobile, they're tiny and soft. The only balanced player on their D is Paul Martin. And he's soft as melted ice cream in the sun, although he had quite a playoffs. Wouldn't matter as much if the other players on the Pens' D didn't suck in their own end. Even Letang is better than most of the scrubs defensively on that Pens blueline.

For all the **** the Pens D and goal-tending gets, I'd put this one on offense. Talk about no show.

Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Letang, Iginla and Morrow all combined for a whopping 0 points.

We're one Chicago win away from guaranteeing that one of Michael Rozsival or Wade Redden will win the Stanley Cup this year.

Think about that for a second.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rozy win the cup at all. Guy got put in a good role for him, and has been solid for the Hawks.

I'm not totally sad he's gone; I think Stralman is probably the better of the two at their respective ages, but I'm happy for the guy.

I am not surprised, predicted this in March. Boston is the better team. Pitt has defensive issues they need to resolve.

I've always liked Rozsy too. It's just funny to think two guys the fanbase turned on and booed relentlessly, one of whom got buried in the minors. One of them is guaranteed a cup before the Rangers get one.

going to be difficult with their cap situation unless they trade Malkin...they also may need to figure out something with fleury.

I posted in the salary cap thread that Rangers are in a pretty good situation with the cap for next season, they have 14+mil free right now to sign hagelin, stepan, zucc, mcd. Mean while, Philly is 2+mil over the cap currently and they need to adjust the team because it missed the playoffs; Boston is right now 5+mil below the cap for next season, but still need to sign a starting goaltender and backup goaltender, one would have to think after this season/postseason Rask will get around 6mil/season; Pittsburgh has 7+mil open, but needs 2 more forwards to fill out their roster and figure out their d and goaltending situation, they could trade malkin and open up an addition 7mil, but then what type of team do you have there?...so I like the Rangers situation right now.

I don't know if i can go as far saying I like the Rangers situation better. They still have Crosby and Malkin.
What surprised me is getting more help for their offense at the deadline instead of their defense. Murray was not an upgrade.

I thought Vokoun played very well, and the Pens D did good. Their offense did not show up. Crosby and Malkin were nowhere to be found.

What was the name of the player shown during the game broadcast that Pierre said would be drafted #1 overall in the 2015 draft?
