He's playing on the wing with Strome as the C and Panarin on the other wing.

He was the other night we played them ..........

So ....... Yes and No.

I'm still of the opinion that between he and his agent, he was never going to stay here.
But, maybe if we had given him a real shot at 2C and given him some of that money that went to Schmidt, he might have stayed. I think we will never know for sure.

I was just going by the Rangers board for their last game. He may switch in and out at C. Either way, he's playing with Panarin and not Lowry so those numbers will jump.

Again people don't like Schmidt when Dillon is the real disappointment this season of the two.

Copp was always a good FO man so maybe he is taking key FO. Or maybe they are alternating him there. I always saw his ability to play C as a value enhancement.

Both Dillon and Schmidt are flawed. Both have disappointed. Schmidt costs a lot more and is playing on the 3rd pair.

Personally, I thought Schmidt was OK on the 1st pair with Morrissey. He had some defensive brain farts but he made some nice defensive plays too and a lot of good passes to exit the d zone. JMo covered up for some of his defensive lapses. The pairing was effective.

Dillon has not been a good fit with Pionk. I don't blame either one in particular. I wonder why they keep playing together though. Maybe alternative arrangements are hard to construct.

Guy Lafleur passed away at 70 , rest in peace Guy.
This hits as hard as Hawerchuk's death.
I was a huge Habs until the Jets came along and watched #10 lead his team to 4 of his 5 cups among other trophies.
Great speed, shot and moves with an elite set of hands. A legend of the game.
KC really reminds me of him when he has the puck with all the head and hip dekes.
A real sportsman that played in an era where bench clearing brawls were common and the hockey world will miss him.

He might have stayed with a better role and lots more money but I wasn't really inclined to give either.

Francouz takes a deflected puck to the face siting on the bench , no head protection no glass in front of him is it time for goalies to wear their masks like they do in college if they sit on the bench

Every. NHL. Player. should be wearing a full face mask while in the arena of play. Even during the warm-up skate. But I ain't holdin' my breath...

He could turn out to be the exception, but in general it is extremely inadvisable to give a player with Copp's play style a big contract well into his 30s.
