It's weird to me that so many of you are looking at Buffalo's roster compared to Arizona's, and think Hall is somehow making a colossal blunder here...

Need to take off your kachina coloured glasses.

There were 7 teams who missed out on bubble action. 7. Guess who was one of the 7.

And yet I'd argue their roster is stronger than Arizona's at every position except goaltender, which they still have time to remedy. What are the Coyotes' chances of pooping out a young superstar 1C, again?

I think you have the wrong idea. I’m not salty he didn’t choose us. I already knew that wasn’t in the cards so don’t bother comparing the two rosters. I just find it funny he kept spouting off about playing for a contender, and it was about winning, and then turns around and signs with one of the perennial losers.(which we are apart of as well, and why I knew he wouldn’t sign here.)

With $8mil in cap space & Olofsson, Reinhart, & Ullmark going to arbitration something has to give

Oops must have caught them in mid-change they already had the cap up and did not show Hall's hit, so nevermind...

I am struggling to understand that Hall signing (and you know I really like Hall):

- This is not a contender franchise.
- There is very little track record of Eichel's wingers doing great, a point per game great. Of course the counter argument is that he never has had a guy like Hall with him before, and sure enough that's the prayer. But no previous example of success is also a fact.
- If you sign for one year why don't you either go for a sure points jump (Oilers) or a BIG market (Montreal/Toronto etc.) and see how you feel like.

Wishing you all the best Taylor, really do. I hope your choice comes true, but if, for whatever reasons, it does not, you won't have any excuses.

Olofsson and Reinhart look a lot better than they are thanks to Eichel.

One year contract still carries a large injury risk. May as well sign for the most dollars with the coach you know and like to play with the best possible center for a shortened season.

Toronto, Montreal, or Edmonton would be a circus.

Hall gets a big salary for this year and sets himself up for a mega contract next off-season. His point totals should rebound sharply playing alongside Eichel.

He talked about wanting to win but this is evidence of what he's really after. I don't blame him one bit. He's a hell of a player and deserves to be paid accordingly.

Oloffson & Reinhart nowhere near performing like true 1C's wingers should look like. Does not mean that Hall won't, but my point is: no track record.

It does not matter about the potential circus of Toronto, Montreal... test yourself why don't you, particularly on a one year deal? Why wouldn't you want to be part of one of those mega, competitive, historical clubs?

As for Edmonton, he knows the place, would be nicely tucked in as a the third best player and have a dandy statistically-wise as far as I can see.

I might be totally wrong, I admit, but at this juncture, I really feel it is a very puzzling decision.

He gets to take them on a test drive and vice versa. He can always bail a the deadline. If he likes it there, and vice versa, they can sign him after the X-draft. Makes sense to me. He gets to pump his numbers with Eichel if nothing else. It's always about the $. He can pump his numbers a bit and try to squeeze more from a contender next year. Or re-up in Buffalo if he likes it.

Only Montreal could afford his Cap hit

I wouldnt be a bit surprised if Buffalo adds a league-average goaltender and makes it into the 20-21 playoffs rather easily. Calling them a "perennial loser" is all well and good but their roster on paper looks considerably better than Arizona's in almost every possible way.

It's 13, yeah? Plus if you bury Hutton, you get an extra million to play with. Olofsson and Reinhart are going to take bridge deals. Pilut is almost assuredly gone along with another RHD. They still have some wiggle room to add a piece or two if they are clever.

So who is more appealing, Olofsson or Thompson? Probably Olofsson right? Get him and a pick for Kuemper

Risto too, I'd like to see him on a team that can defend. Not sure if he'd be happy to see Housley again so new coaches needed....
