Around the NHL 2025 playoff edition

Way less pressure here though and way less chances of being bothered in public too. I'm sure Jack and Luke talk to him about that aspect here too. We have basically 0 media pressure, especially when compared to Canada.

Plus they really do seem extremely family oriented and I do think it matters to them that their parents could just come and root for the same team and all 3 of them.

I just don't see how he doesn't come here when he's a UFA.

Be careful about getting your hopes up. Money talks, loudly.

In Game 5 of the AHL Pacific Divison Finals, a Colorado Eagles threw a chair (?!) at the Abottsford Canucks announcer. (Abbottsford won the game 5-0 and moved onto the WCF.)

Or was no chair thrown? The alleged attacker defended his, uh, honor on Twitter.

worse thing for the canucks is missing the playoffs again and the devils making it that will completely seal the deal on him coming here.

Vancouver missing also means probably another not great year for Petterson, making his contract look like a big road bump moving forward.

Roy is a mediocre head coach at best and a piece of shit human.

He has a very Rick Tocchet/Travis Green looking resume. One playoff berth in a season he actually started the year as head coach. But I think this was only his fourth full season as a head coach in the league. He hasn’t coached as many games/years as the other guys.

Sounds like some kind of Quebecois connection with Darche.

I thought Darche had actually played with Roy, but I was confusing Columbus and Colorado lol

Maple Leaf’s GM says they “have to change their DNA.” Stupid expression (living creatures don’t change their DNA) and especially when you read the rest of the interview, that seems to imply their being better in crucial game situations and maybe not in personnel. What the hell he means by this, I don’t even think he can say. He wants a different result. Doesn’t every team in the league except one?

I’d love to be 37 again, that’s still young to me.

But it’s old in this league, especially when you haven’t played a game in it since prior to your 35th birthday.

If Toews wanted to come back last year after only one year out of the league I think a lot more teams would have been interested. But after two years out of the league?

He wouldn’t be the oldest player to make a comeback though.

Claude Lemieux didn’t play pro hockey anywhere for 5 years and none in the NHL for 6 years before playing 2 games in China, then heading directly over to the AHL Sharks and eventually playing 18 games for the NHL Sharks at 43 years old. Toews might draw more interest than we think.

Obvious answer points to "he's Magneto."

In all seriousness, the team has a mental block that the current core couldn't overcome, and now it's time to break it up. It seems like Shanahan wanted to run it all back, which... why? And also, how?
