It reeks of a safe hire, and as we all know, safe is death. I think in the long-term, promoting Malhotra would have been the right move. The low-event defensive system under Tocchet was painful to watch and Foote seems like a continuation of that. At least Malhotra might unleash some of the forwards, especially Petey, back to a level of production that they once had.

Turned out he had to go there to renew his NEXUS pass for border crossing. Apparently you need to do it in person and that's the nearest place to go.
They'll be in decent shape for a couple of years, but their window is probably closing.
