Resting them for the playoffs, or actually injured?

According to Bailey Curtis of The Hockey News, the Avalanche will be leaving for their road trip without Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar as neither will make the trip. In addition to those two, the Avalanche will be missing four other players in Ross Colton, Jonathan Drouin, Ryan Lindgren, and Josh Manson.

Totally...Colorado is locked in to 3rd in the Central. Can't catch Dallas, and can't be caught by Minnesota or St. Louis.

So looks like tax free state Tampa is having a hard time signing a US college player too.
Michigan State star Isaac Howard will not be signing with the Tampa Bay Lightning and will instead return to school for his senior season.
Time for a rule change ... can't draft US college players unless they are finished their senior year.

Smart move plus Dallas can't scout the Avs last 2 games.

I remember when he was drafted. Kid comes across as a cocky arrogant punk.

Well Calgary getting the job done against Minnesota tonight. Wild will still hold on to the WC1 spot over the Blues by virtue of regulation wins. But each team down two games, Wild against Canucks and Ducks, Blues against Kraken and No Names. So could go either way. Flames still have to win out to make the playoffs, in all likelihood. And still likely to be the last team eliminated.

Wild have Zeev Buium joining the team after Nehring's Western Michigan Broncos knocked Denver out of the NCAA Frozen Four semifinals. Will be interesting to see if he gets some playoff action, knocking his first ELC year off, hoping for a Makar effect, at an even younger age than when Makar left UM Amherst.

So who would be the Jets preferred matchup in round 1?

A slumping Minnesota
The hot until recently Blues?
The late entry Calgary Flames?

They'd be to old for the draft and would just go directly to FA anyways per the CBA. CHL players can also go this route and end up UFAs at 20/21 if they wanted to just most take the guaranteed money.
