Need big Stan to sit on him again.:naughty:

That play certainly heated up our rivalry for a cup of coffee. Between Creed, supervillain Hartman, their punch my face booze dummy GM, and WWE heel fake news Vince Russo, it was intense for a minute. Without their former short man syndrome coach I’m not sure this has rivalry potential. Hartman keeps the flame from going out completely.

Can the Wild just go away?

He's been bad. If I were the Oilers, I'd probably send out feelers to the Rangers to see if Quick wants one last go at a third Stanley Cup.
With Zuccarello's broken testicle I notice the Wild are running Boldy-Eriksson-Ek-Kaprizov as their top line, and that's a good line.

I said it at the start of the year that Skinner's game losing goal in the playoffs would affect his confidence this year. To make things worse Stan Bowman took that defense down a notch. Seems like every replay I see Ty Emberson is getting torched. They have a stud in Ekholm, but they are going to put a lot of mileage on him early. Also Jeff Skinner is a curse.

I love seeing the Flames ahead of them. They are getting goaltending, and they have a very mobile, young defense. They moved Connor Zary into the middle to fill a hole, and it worked against the Rangers.

If the Oilers miss the playoffs I am going to laugh so hard, because there were so many people predicting them to go back to the Cup, and I couldn't see it with the team that was assembled.

Oilers will get is sorted out before the playoffs but there is no doubt, hitching their wagon to Skinner carries allot of risk.

First step. Fire coach.

Next step trade for defense. And goaltending. Might be the first step.

3rd step, Motivate Mc David to another level.

The thing is does there reach a point where Mc David's heart (Hart?) is no longer in Edmonton? Go to Toronto or New York you are the face of everything with fanbases and managements that are invested to win. Is this the year? These leaders like him and JT Miller I don't think are in it for the long haul in the markets they are in. We're lucky that way, with Scheifele.

Right now the best one two punch at centre in the West is probably Vegas with Eichel and Hertl. And they have the defense.

Oiler might have to fire their head coach for the millionth time to get them motivated again
Pens should that use that playbook to get themselves on track.

It’s a long season. These guys went to game 7 and lost. I think it will take a while to crank up their mojo but we’ll see.

First step: Get a goalie.
Next step: Get a goalie.
3rd step: Get a backup goalie.

Then they can evaluate their D corps. I think that will give McD all the motivation he needs.

Will be interesting to see where Montgomery ends up but I don't think the Oilers will fire a coach that just got a team to an SCF, at least not yet. Oilers just need to add some depth and get a goalie. Trouble is there aren't many good goalies available yet. They are likely tied to who they have right now for better or worse.

Oilers are in tough to add depth. They just don’t have a lot to work with outside of picks and their cap space is tight

I agree though - i think they’ll make POs. They are missing key depth players this year vs last season though so I have doubts they go as deep
