Or they're just stupid. There's three GMs and scouting staffs that should be fired. For myself and a lot of public scouting sites he was a strong #2 after Celebrini.

It would suck for the Sabres, sure. But this org has burned me out waiting for a winner. I'll just spend my time appreciating exciting hockey players until the Sabres get their collective heads out of their asses.

they gotta add a shot clock and/or a no over and back rule to OT. Just boring as hell to watch each team create one good chance in between 4+ minutes of keepaway

How did they not realize that was a goal in real time?
There was a legitimate argument that if Ivan Demidov was Jack Smith from good old Toronto......he could have seriously challenged Celebrini for 1st pick.....and was at worst the clear-cut 2nd most talented player in the 2024 draft.

I'm more surprised they fixed it AFTER the Canadiens player shot. That has to be against the NHL rules somewhere.

At least don't allow the team in possession to skate it back over center. Or we could just, you know, forget the shootout entirely and go back to ... gasp! ... having tied games.

Not gonna lie. The Habs have a fun team with some dynamic young players.I hope Demidov tears it up in the NHL.

I was quite impressed with the Hawks too. Loaded with young talent, including a huge good skating defense.

I suspect that after both him and Michkov were playing with their NHL teams long before expected, the "Russian factor" will become a non-factor.
They're like players from anywhere else. They want the challenge, dollars, and recognition that only comes with playing in the NHL. Contractual obligations can always be overcome.

Yea but there was a bit of that feeling after Ovi and Malkin too. Or Kuznetsov and Tarasenko.
There is simply a bias against Russian players. Which is crazy to me, this isn’t 1995 anymore these guys fit the style of play of the current NHL

Michkov is the one who told teams above where the Flyers picked -- specifically Montreal -- that he wasn't interested in them and had told the Flyers he was very interested in being in Philly.
