Around the NHL: 2024-25 Season, Are You Not Entertained?

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Go back five years and make a statement about how Ullmark is one of the most consistent starters in the division and Cozens is helping solidify a 2nd line and we'd all probably be happy. Granted, that's before wondering how the "...for Ottawa" got tacked onto the message.
How it happened:

U-Gene is dead, Terry isn't.

Not a nice thing to say but where's the lie?

Tortorella apparently stepped down in Philly. I’ve wanted that dude on the Sabres the last 4 seasons. I feel like he can provide aspects of what we need to compete. I don’t think he was onboard with the pace of the rebuild in Philly.

He looks/sounds burned out and not sure he would be the right guy for this group

Boston is terrible, they will be in full rebuild mode next year.

Looking at next year, the Sabres need to be better than Montreal, Ottawa, Boston, Detroit. Detroit is not a good 5v5 team, neither is Ottawa. Montreal will be interesting to see if they can repeat their success from this year.

Really, this team should be in the wild card hunt if they are healthy and dont shit the bed.... which means they really will be out of it by early January, but I digress.

The gm whomever it is cannot sit on his hands for 13 games and the Avs game (among other) and say all teams got through it, or pull out the bizarre Palm tree/taxes speech either. HUGE errors in judgement for Adams this season.

The Philly fans seem to be rejoicing in unison at the news that he was fired, that he wasn't all that great in developing what youth they had.

I shudder to think how quickly things would go belly up here. I just don't see him joining a young/rebuilding team at this point.

I've always had the thought that the pro-Torts bend is all about having someone who would be mean to the players, something the fans want by proxy.

Seems like his primary beef was that he didn’t want to be on a rebuilding team. I would like to think the front office no longer views us as a rebuilding team and that the goal is to make the playoffs (who am I kidding).

It's likely that Montreal adds an excellent RHD prospect in Reinbacher - he's been very good in the AHL - and Demidov's contract with SKA St. Petersburg is about to expire. If they can figure out their #2 center, they look like they will be well on their way to being good again.

Reinbacher won't make it to the Habs. He's going to demand a trade at some point based on Price's inability to pronounce his last name.

Adams should be all over this trade.
