This is it exactly. Most Isles fans recognize Pelech’s unfortunate regression - most of the time he still looks very good, but is makes egregious mistakes that cost the team. He should probably be moved in the offseason, but I am not sure there would be a taker for his contract, and there are no other options there.
As for Sorokin, it seems that there are quite a few Isles fans who seem unable to accept the fact that Sorokin has not been great this year or last. He’s not been bad, but not great - and he’s paid to be great. With seven years left on a contract that pays him to be one of the best G in the league, I don’t understand why people don’t see this a problem. Do the Isles have bigger problems - for sure, but to pretend that Sorokin’s play the past two seasons is not a little bit concerning seems odd. From an age/contract/perfomance standpoint, and with an eye to the future of this team, if you’re not a little concerned about Sorokin, then you’re willfully blind.
