Ignoring the fact that Murray didn’t draft Baptiste or Bailey (2013 picks), he used the in-house scouting crew in 2014 using his time to focus on Reinhart, and then his other draft picks being thrown out for the most part by Botterill and company so we saw incomplete development.Murray sucked as scout as well
Murray had average drafting success as other GMs and teams. His focus on physical tools while developing coaches/staff was not a good mix. His most successful draft pick in terms of value was probably Hagel which required Chicago development coaches. One could argue he showed promise prior being cut by Botts.
