Sure, but what I like is that the B's have played the same number of games but have a -11 goal differential, versus Buffalo's +4

It's not as bad as you think. Florida/Tampa/Montreal has 1 and Detroit/Ottawa has 2. Boston is even.

So Detroit would need 2/4 points to tie us and Ottawa would need 3/4 to tie us. That's no sure thing with those teams, so even with the games in hand, Buffalo might still be even or ahead of them.
