I wouldn't, unless it was ludicrously cheap.

Problem is, he'd be in the same situation here. He won't be taking minutes from anyone on our PP1 and I don't see him working at EV with Jack.
I think he would thrive here. No pressure about being a savior, really solid along the boards and with possession, but yea probably never happening.

Why did the rangers move mountains to dump trouba? Want to say he sucks ok but there’s a lot of crappy players playing out there. Cap hit? What are they going to do mid season trade of that magnitude are far and few between. Seems like it did more harm then good in the locker room.

It's too soon to count the Rangers out. They're better than the Penguins

I really don't know how people can say it's too early when after 31 games they have exactly 2 wins against playoff teams.

I get that they can maybe get hot and the bubble in the east is bad, but that team has a lot of structural issues where making a trade isn't going to fix much. They need an overhaul on D and need to drop a couple of the big contracts on the F side of things where they will probably have to eat money just to get rid of them.

This group has been very average at best 5 on 5, and have feasted on the PP and off rushes but now the the latter two are faltering, they simply can't compete even with Igor.

The Sharks should just waive either of the useless pair of tits they have up right now.

Georgiev is completely worthless and always has been outside of one year.

Vitek has been completely whatever outside of one year and horrifically bad since April of 2023. Vitek looks like he’s lost his ability to play NHL goalie at this point.

They should be playing Askarov.

I don’t think the Goodrow stuff has much to do with anything if it had just been that. I do think the Trouba stuff in the offseason and the leaking the stuff about his wife probably didn’t sit well.

That Drury does a lot of his business through the media is a big part of the problem.
It amazes me that a former player like Drury who was an NHL captain and should know how this stuff will go down can be so tone deaf.

Well they just rehabbed Blackwood into something tangible, why wouldn’t they think they can do the same thing with the other two.

Blackwood is actually having a good season.

The other two are NOT having a good season at all. The reason that the Avs dumped Georgiev (remember when he was a ''Top-10 goalie in the league'' two years ago? Giant LOL) was because of how brutal he was behind their team.

I would bet Vitek has some of the most rancid numbers of any goalie since April of 2023 and Georgiev's aren't too much better since then.

And let's not forget, people like Blackwood around hockey and the league for some reason. He's thought of higher for some reason than a Vitek Vanecek or Alexandar Georgiev. I don't know why, that is but it is. Canadian darling and golden boy? Possibly so. Although people loved Georgiev only probably about a year ago.

He is having a much better season than those two goalies, I'll give him that. So at least at the current moment I could justify Blackwood over those two massive piles of steaming shit.

Stan’s merciless trolling makes the Rangers’ woes all the more sweet.

Imagine getting dragged by a dude who has been covering your sport since before your parents were born.

And even worse, that his complaints are totally valid.
Stan Fischler and the New York Americans hockey club existed at the same time for a decade.

The Rangers have only existed for 6 years longer than Stan.

Stan was or is a Rangers fan. I don't know how many times he's publicly admitted, but I've long since thought he was a Rangers fan, there's been clues for a long time now. Although people have said they thought he was an Islanders fan.

His Rangers posts recently actually do come off as a very jaded fan who has had enough, and not so much a guy that hates the Rangers and is glad they're currently they're in the toilet.

I remember him very smugly attacking Tuukka Rask on twitter during that 2013 playoff series, which I think was won by the Bruins in 5 games and led to Torts being fired at the conclusion of the series. Rask slipped and fell during what I think was the lone game the Rangers won in that series and Stan was really ripping him for that.

You misunderstood. He's a fan of the Texas Rangers. Not the baseball team, the group founded in 1823. When he was in his prime those young upstarts brought justice and stability to an unsettled territory.

Almost feels like they'd rather have Askarov play behind a decent AHL team rather than have him potentially lose his confidence behind a bad NHL defense this season.
