The only way Kakko would wind up here right now is if he forced his way here. Even that really isn't possible because he doesn't even have a no trade clause (right?).

Man it's a nice fantasy though. You just know he would thrive here and it would be an evergreen taunt to use against Rangers fans.

I don't think there's any middle ground for the Rangers the rest of this season. Either they are going to somehow bounce back and get into the playoffs as a wildcard, or they are going to completely sink to the bottom.

Yeah there isn't a realistic path right now. He is a RFA after this season so whomever he gets traded to he would have to force his way out of there, which seems doubtful.

Can they even trade Kreider if the locker room is rebelling against veterans being treated poorly in their eyes?

Almost feels like a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation.

I wonder if some of Kakko’s, “I guess I was benched for being young.” was born out of locker room friction between the wealthy veterans and everyone else.

No one is trading for Zibanejad. Kreider/Kakko will be the trades soon

Kakko is really slow but Palat isn’t a speedster either, if we were seriously comparing them.

Devils aren’t really built around team speed, his ability to grind along the boards is the value he would bring.

Our team hasn't been built on having a bunch of speed at F in a WHILE now.

Maybe a McLeod, Wood, and Boqvist ago.
