It's so crazy that as soon as we get good, it's like they are actively imploding day by day. Not saying it's not a fun watch, but beating an equally good Rangers through out the year or better yet in the playoffs is so much more exciting.

It's more satisfying but more stressful. I prefer our archrival to be at full strength, but since that isn't gonna happen this year... let them burn.

Knew the guy was cooked when that "New York, it's a nice city" meme popped up on my feed days after he got drafted. Always had to be compared to Jack too which blows. We've spoken about this but he gives big Nichuskin vibes in his next spot.

I think the big difference between Kakko and Nuke and why he'll never hit that level is that Nuke's a freak athlete and a great skater. Kakko can't really skate. I think that'll always prevent him from hitting the monster level that Nuke has but there's not reason the guy can't be a solid complimentary two way top 6er

Its Always Sundstrom

Among the optimists.

100%, if it's not going to be an entertaining battle, I'm happy it's an entertaining catastrophe at least.

Yeah I said yesterday I prefer when they're good and then lose in the playoffs. It makes for a more stressful but ultimately more satisfying and fun time. If they're going to suck I much prefer it be when they have expectations and things spiral in a fun way like this.

Too bad they'd never trade Kakko to us. I'd happily play him in a middle 6 role.

I'd love to try him on either of the top 6 lines but espeically with Jack-Bratt. Even if that didn't work I'd prefer him on the 3rd line over Cotter. Ultimately yeah like you said would never happen. Drury would never get over the humiliation if he moved Kakko here and Kakko would up succeeding. He should sign here as a UFA to really stick it to the Rangers.

NYR is also not a very savvy trading team when you think about it. The Devils got Siegs/Kovy for mid round picks and they're both playing like top 2/top 4 dmen for us. NYR is too reliant on their drafting/UFA route. You need to make some under the radar trades to consistently be good.

You're telling me Buch for Blais+2nd isn't good?

Kakko should force his way here to really stick it to them.

He really really should want to come here. Like I get that he might not want to because of all the shit Devils fans have flung his way but he should also realize him succeeding him would earn him greater love and adoration than if he succeeded anywhere else in the league

Well they kind of are when they need someone to take their cap headaches or someone forces their way to the bright lights (a la Fox) but Drury has made some clunker deals too
