Seems my little faith in Yzerman was too much faith. I thought he’d be all over this. I don’t even know if Lalonde’s “that” bad because I think Yzerman’s built a dog shit group but still figure Montgomery’s an upgrade

I had a feeling Montgomery would be hired really quickly. I kept comparing it to that time the Capitals fired Boudreau and the Ducks fired Carlyle and hired him two days later.

I just had the wrong team. Figured it would be Detroit, even though I didn’t know if he had any previous ties to anyone there or not.

I never did think the Blues, only because they have a coach that’s been there only a year and I’m amazed at how many strings they try to pull to still compete. I think it’s time to give it up over there. You’re maybe competing for a playoff berth at best.

I remember last time we played the Caps, Spaulding seemed confused as to why we didn’t get him in that draft in spite of him being available and a Devils fan.

I remember being happy enough, but extremely sour at the time with Tedenby, he just wasn't what we needed. I did think we got a good winger.

At the time we had Elias, Parise, Gionta at wing. We were giving first pairing minutes to Mike Mottau.

Carlson was and always will be who they should have drafted. It was obvious to anyone with half a brain.

Blues make a coaching change, which means we probably help give them a new coach bump this week
We should still be able to take them quite easily. They aren't a good team and Binnington is back to being a painfully mediocre goaltender after a bounceback season last year.

I'm tired of seeing them go into MSG and get destroyed and mostly even on Long Island too, but then they come in here on the same trip and look like they're actually still a relevant team. We lost to them both times in 22-23 and they were shit that year.

I think we beat them at home last year when Green was interim head coach.

I wanna know what brilliant mind made the decision to make Joe Thornton’s number retirement game against Buffalo.

The Sharks have one of their worst records all time against the Sabres. Maybe their worst all time record.

I think have 14 wins over the Sabres in 50 all time meetings?

I remember there was one time where they had one win in like 20+ years against them in Buffalo.

Between their inaugural season in 1991 and 2014 they had one win in SEVENTEEN games against them in Buffalo lol. Not even one tie I don’t think! And finally another in 2015 and they’re now 4-17-4 there.

Their home record against them is a little less bad, but still not very good.

Maybe because they don’t expect to win much they don’t care what team they schedule it against because they’re probably gonna lose anyway?
Should’ve had it against Boston.

Loughlin just picking at scabs on old wounds here lol

I wonder if Lou wasn’t here and current ownership gm and theme is in place then do they draft him for the jersey angle?

I think he may not have liked that if that happened. I don't think he's on such great terms with the organization.

It's been so long that there's hardly anybody still working there who was there when he last played there almost 20 years ago, but I think that probably would have been in bad taste if you asked him.

Sometimes they do that against the other team the player played for. I think they retired Selanne's number in Anaheim when Winnipeg was in town, even though it wasn't the same organization as the Winnipeg Jets that he played for. I think they also retired Ryan Miller's number in Buffalo a few years back when Anaheim was in town, the team he last played with in the NHL.

was the blues coach not any good? like was he even on a hot seat?
I think once they saw he was available they jumped on that before someone else did. And he was an assistant there before he took the job in Boston.

This reminds me of when the Flames fired Geoff Ward, who was only head coach for about a calendar year. They were 11-11-2 after 24 games.

But they brought back Darryl Sutter who was already retired, but I guess he agreed to come back because he lived close and had coached/been the GM there before. They probably weren’t gonna fire Ward then if Sutter didn’t want the job.

LOL....

Also didn't realize Kreider was making a run at the Cy Young this season. 9 goals and 0 assists through 19 games. Impressive.

Good luck to them with that. They might get something for Kreider, but I suspect Trouba is just as unmovable as he was over the summer.
