Jones is still signed for FIVE more years? For some reason I thought he only had 3 more years lol. They should have gotten him for free.

They should have had to give the Panthers something good to take him lol.

The Panthers gave away a 1st round pick and a decent (not great) younger goalie that was starting to show something this year for a BAD defenseman who is signed for 5 more years and a 4th round pick? I guess Knight has a couple years left at a not so great salary too?

Jones at 7 million is not bad. FLA is now paying him less than Ekblad who is hitting UFA this summer. I'm sure Jones can still be fine top 4 dman on a good team under good coaching. Not 9.5 million good, but top 4 dman sure.

They're only paying Forsling less than 6 million too which helps.
