Poor Rango. As has been the case, he just doesn't get enough shots despite his excellent scoring touch. His shot generation is about the same as last year, roughly 2 per game. He's shooting 9.4% this year vs. 17.3% last year.

At least he got PAID before hitting a wall, though some Calgary posters are suggesting the poor performance might be related to a shoulder injury earlier this season.

Still, it was crazy that Conroy rushed to sign him first chance he could get (July 1st) to that contract (5 x $5.75M) when there was still another year left on his deal and he didn't have much of a track record.
Hopefully he bounces back a bit - don't want to see him just get roasted on a regular basis by Calgary fans.

I like the guy, but yes, Sharangovich is not a top 6 player on any contender. He is basically a less skilled version of Zibanejad. Too much of a perimeter player, doesn’t do anything to push play. He needs a world class center to produce consistently. Basically a faster Michael Ryder.

If he had more physicality to his game he’d make a nice third line winger.

Fitz did quite well with that trade. Yegor is a fun but limited player.

Yeah, net result of the trade was that Fitz traded Sharangovich + 2023 3rd round pick (80th overall) for 2024 3rd round pick (91st overall - Herman Traff) + Winnipeg's 2025 2nd round pick.

Leaving out the fact that we had several months of Toffoli and the fact that a 2023 3rd rounder is slightly more valuable than a 2024 3rd rounder, essentially netting a 2025 2nd round pick for Sharangovich the summer after he was getting healthy scratched in the playoffs isn't a bad bit of business.

Anyone recall who replaced him in the lineup after game 3 of the Rangers series?

No, not really lol.

Do you remember? Or are you asking?

Will forever be annoyed we couldn’t pawn off Yegor on SJ rather than Zetterlund
He would have been fine too

But I also wish they took Holtz instead. Either or would have been fine with me.

Was it Wood?

Edit: NVM, he was scratched then brought back for gm 7

I was asking...but I looked into it further and looks like I read Sharangovich's playoff games wrong anyway. He was in for games 2 & 7 of the Rangers series and game 1 versus Carolina.

Looks like these were the swaps during the series:

Game 2 - Sharangovich & Smith in for Boqvist & Siegenthaler
Game 3 - Boqvist, Lazar and Siegenthaler in for Sharangovich, Wood & Smith
Games 4/5/6 - No changes
Game 7 - Sharangovich & Wood in for Boqvist & Lazar

So basically, he was in the mix with Wood, Lazar and Boqvist for 2 spots in the lineup.

wouldn't worry he will get his typical hot streak and score 15 goals in 25 games or something like that and end of the year have a stat sheet that looks good. so glad hes gone

my guess is that was the devils first offer but seeing how holtz has been in vegas now i'm sure the sharks declined.

Sharangovich was always the same guy in Calgary last year, he was just getting way more ice time/opportunity and shooting at a ridiculous rate.

his contract hasn't even started yet lol that could be a bad one.
