You have to wonder if Jim Montgomery and the Bruins are on the road to a mutual separation. He has a lot of heat on him and doesn’t seem to be loving the gig from my outside observation. Still think he’d be a great fit in STL down the road.

I’m very interested to see what happens there. This is the last year of his contract and the Bruins are struggling so far. If they don’t make the playoffs, they’ll let him walk and go in another direction. Heck even if they do make the playoffs and lose early, I could see them letting him walk. It doesn’t feel like a long-term fit, short of him taking them on some miracle run.

If this Blues season continues to go down the toilet without Thomas, I’ll be curious to see if the Blues use these poor results as an “out” on Bannister (even though it’s not his fault) so that they can pounce on Monty in the offseason.

Yes, the fact that he is contract-less after this season makes Montgomery to STL a semi-realistic scenario (unlike many of the things that get speculated on this forum). I’ve been complimentary of Bannister this year but I would he surprised if he’s nothing more than a placeholder long term.

Montgomery may be fired by Thanksgiving the way things are going in Boston.
They're getting poor play from Coyle, Zacha, Frederic and McAvoy. Those four guys need to produce because their bottom-six is awful. Swayman is underperforming after all that douchebaggery, but at least they have a set of massive defensemen.

Boston is up 3-0 on Seattle with under 9 to play in the first and the shots are 10-0 Boston
(eh, they challenged for offside on a very close call it's 2-0)

Winnipeg and Tampa in a thriller going down to the wire

Seems many Avs fans are ambivalent toward Nichushkin’s return. Then again, that’s prolly the same for any player returning from “The Program”.
