The Caps are currently $4.1M over the salary cap even after Backstrom is put on LTIR. I wonder if Oshie is going to end up LTIRetired.

Saw Oshie on NHL network yesterday - didn’t give the impression that he’s hanging them up at all. It was about him participating in a charity golf tourney (something like that).

A lot of Caps fans seem to think he will though. And who knows with Oshie because he always seems to be in good spirits, but I read an article last season that he couldn’t stand or even sit to go pee. His back pain or something was so bad that he had to pee in bottles while crouching down on his knees. He’s also had multiple concussions over the years.

His body has taken a ton of damage and I’m not sure it’s worth it, or smart, to play one more season.

BUFF trades Matt Savoie to EDM for Ryan McCleod and Tyler Tullio. I’m surprised to see Savoie traded. I thought he was considered a top prospect. I wonder if there are any other opportunities like this the Blues can take advantage of?

There’s just a ton of pressure in Buffalo to finally make the playoffs. Would be awesome if we could take advantage of that desperation in some way, but doubt it’s possible for the Blues right now unfortunately.

Yeah. What would we have that they want and can afford to give up? They certainly have D I would be interested in.

Buffalo is one of the teams I've been eyeing for a chance to pick off a star. They've been a great farm team to the top teams in the West over past half dozen years, and I could see next summer them dealing either byram or power (not that they should, but that hasn't been the question for them for years). I'd love Cozens as 2c too, but that feels less likely.

I just don’t see what we have that they need. Then again I don’t understand why they wanted Byram either.

Buffalo is a team i would love to get a young Dman from. If they are looking to compete now Kyrou would be on the table. Not because im just trying to ship him, but because he would have tremendous value at his age/production/term left on his deal to a team like Buffalo.
