I always hated Laviolette's stupid hair, which appears very thick and heavy, but was stupid see-through, though not like Mark Recchi levels.

I'm extremely certain he's had some work done with his hair because it doesn't seem to be getting any thinner like it was when he coached the Flyers.

I'd be shocked if he was still there in 3 years, and they'll probably be done with Drury by then too. Drury feels like a short term-ish/transition GM for them. Feels like he'll go down as the guy that served in between the Sather era and the next long term guy.

Though it won't be as short as that NOBODY that's more known for being an announcer than an NHL front office person, that left the BLOW Jackets to come be team president for 2 years, because he had a clause in his contract that he could leave the Columbus BLOW Jackets to go work for the Rangers, because he loved it so much there and was a commentator there about 15+ years prior and played there 40+ years prior, on top of having a history of being a mediocre NHL front office person in the meantime.

And then the CLOWNS in Columbus let him come back when the Rangers dumped his WORTHLESS president of hockey ops self right on his ass.

It's not like anybody else wanted him to come work for them.

It's two years and out for both of them unless they win a cup or have long playoff runs.

I didn't realize Owen Power was already up for his first extension.

It's kind of crazy to think on, to be honest. I have a feeling he's going to get that 8 x 8 type treatment.
To be fair, that's seemingly the correct move for top young players. Has any team regretted a long term deal to a guy coming off his ELC? Even Carolina seems happy with the Kotkaniemi deal.

No Elias but justice for (some) goalies!

It took a while for most of these guys.
Vernon, retired 2002 (21 years)
Barrasso, retired 2003 (20 years)
Turgeon, retired 2007 (16 years)

Vernon getting in over Mogliny and Elias, lmfao. Hank, Caroline Ouellette and Pierre Turgeon are the only one deserving out of the players.

Pretty sure Barrasso only never got in because he’s reportedly kind of an asshole and they hate letting in goalies. More goalies deserve to go in. A goalie heavy class is good. Barrasso deserves it.

…uh, welp, I wouldn’t have chosen Mike Vernon though. (Joseph would have worked, good lord, how hard is it to get this right?)

Elias will presumably get in. Maybe a committee member or two needs to switch out for it to happen.

I think it’s strange that no one seems to have any issues with Turgeon getting in, yet a lot of the general public seem to scoff at the idea of Elias. Turgeon put up some gaudy numbers, mostly in a much higher scoring era…but that’s it. He has one season where he finished 5th in Hart voting. Not a single vote any other year. One other season he received a single Selke vote. That’s it. Unless we really want to consider Lady Byng votes. Elias has a better voting record than that and was the best forward on two cup winning teams. Turgeon never won a cup.

Not saying Turgeon is unworthy, but just further validation in my mind that Elias is worthy.
