I was prepared to get one of Carlsson or Fantilli, happy it was Carlsson in the end. Bedard was never in my mind of us landing. Lol.
I only allowed myself to think about Bedard in Anaheim when they f***ed up before the commercial break and announced that CBJ was #3. Figured the math was in our favor at that point lol.

Then Daly had our tile upside down. Lol. Can’t make this crap up.

why are the knights taking a photo of their "winning" team with some guys who didn't win it and some guys who did win not on the team anymore?

Why is this ESPN announcer calling them VGK repeatedly. Is this a rebranding thing that I’ve missed? Just be normal and call them the Knights or Golden Knights lol.
How long before we get more Chess Piece named teams ? Portland Pawns, Quebec Queens, Houston Bishops, Milwaukee Rooks to go along with Los Angeles Kings and Vegas Golden Knights.

GM Verbeek has followed Yzerman, GM of the Red Wings, and wants to mimick. Yzerman and Verbeek, GM and asst. GM, took over the Red Wings in 2019. Then I see this article today on the Athletic (see below). Duck fans need to be patient, but I think we might be ahead of Verbeek's mentor in rebuild time, using the reset rebuild of 2021-22 as the start time.

I like the following quote from Yzerman:

“I don’t know when to, I guess, literally announce what stage of the rebuild we’re at,” Yzerman said. “Each year, we’ve tried to add draft picks, we’ve tried to sign any of our unrestricted free agents that we could, or chose (to), or wanted to. And the players that we couldn’t, or weren’t going to … we traded at the deadline.
“I guess you’re out of your rebuild when you’re not doing that at the deadline. So we’ll see, but again I think we’re still being patient. We’re waiting for our younger players to develop. I intend to hold onto our draft picks for the foreseeable future and be patient and let them develop, and try to add to that small core that we have and (make) us a competitive team for a long stretch of time.”

The rebuild cannot be reset - only extended

The rebuild cannot be reset - only extended

From Detroit news article when Verbeek was hired:

"This team doesn't need to be rebuilt; they're in the middle of their rebuild, so this is a great opportunity to take this team forward and turn them into a contender," Verbeek said during his introductory press conference. "You don't have to come in there and look to take a long time. There's good players in the NHL, good players in the minors and there are players that have been drafted. There's a lot coming to support the growth of this team. That's truly what I'm excited about."

The Ducks were 3rd in the Pacific when Verbeek took over during All-Star break. Apparently, Verbeek's nomenclature and initial direction disproves the extension thought. Yzerman's scenario is extending the rebuild.

Just turned on hawks and bruins…..Bedard sure looks small and on the first shift he played about as much defense in his own zone as Zegras Lol.
