They're both useless. Why take the more costly player with longer term? Unless Washington is thinking they can try to make it work with Dubois for a year and if it doesn't work out, they buy him out after the Cup finals next year before his buyout flips from 1/3 to 2/3?

I forget if it was Marek or Friedman, but one of them mentioned Dubois/Kuemper as an idea a few months back.

I wonder when teams are flying to Vegas for the draft, usually teams have some final meetings a few days beforehand. So maybe teams getting some NHL roster business done first so they can focus on their rankings?

Yeah I was convinced Calgary was doing it just to f*** with Edmonton getting news but now other moves are happening too lol, now it feels like all these teams started getting shit done after Game 3 and are getting too antsy to hold off on announcing it.

Funny thing is if Blake just traded that for Helly, you can understand it way more. Now they have no PLD, none of those guys you mentioned and a old goalie on a bloated deal who's already won and probably couldn't care less about winning lol
