It was clean, but he can still keep his shoulder tucked in instead of following through with it. It’s the little shit like that that he does that make me never want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from, I just have a hard time thinking it's factual considering the numbers we do have available. I can't confirm, it's just my suspicion, that's all.

Well, I could confirm, I just don't feel like doing the work necessary to get the map. Maybe after the playoffs.

I know you can get your hands on that, and as part of my life and IT career I have a healthy respect for data.
Just a question: When you speak of your 'suspicion', is 'suspicion' analgous to 'eye test'?
Another question: why would you 'have a hard time thinking it's factual considering the numbers we do have available'? Does that mean that you do have evidence, or that the numbers you cite are over a larger sample size for Patrik Laine, e.g. the regular season?
I guess what I am saying is that I don't quite get the above statement about the 'numbers we do have available'.
Thanks Silverfish, I do appreciate your thinking man's approach to things!

Stop flattering me, I can only get so bigheaded.

I've watched most of the WPG games these playoffs because I'm obsessed with Wheeler but I can admit I don't really have a good handle on where the majority of Laine's shots are coming from. But when I look at the #s, I see a guy who is attempting a lot of shots, has a high expected goals, and if Corsica would load for me right now, I could get a read on his expected shooting % as well.

So when I see numbers like that, I assume a few things that I cannot prove without a shot map.

1) The quantity is uber-high, so this is a guy who is firing at will from everywher
2) Quantity can inflate xG, but since this is Laine, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt

So it is totally possible that he's just spamming shots from bad areas, but I'm inclined to believe that with a quantity as high as his is, there's probably a very solid amount of quality built into it.
