Around the NHL 11 - 2023/24

1 - a fanbase that LOST their franchise once and was gutted because of it should not be "happy" for another fanbase losing their team.

2 - the both fans comment is so trite.

1. When the team had no right to exist in the first place, and the team’s fan base (as seen on this forum) had no problem chirping us then hiding behind “it’s worse when you do it back to us”, especially when that team has enjoyed *every league-granted privilege imaginable* and frankly some I never could have imagined in advance, I’ll feel no compunction about feeling joy that one of the biggest and longest-running shams in sports history has finally come to an end.

2. When an NHL team is playing in (but not filling) an ECHL-sized stadium, fan base-size jokes have a whole new level of relevance to them.

“Oh, just face the facts, hockey’s never coming back to Winnipeg. We’re your team now, why not come to grips and cheer for us instead?” yeah, I’ll not psychically herniate myself being “better than that”.

Hope you dont hold that strong of grudge in every facet of your life. That **** is not healthy.

I dunno, I’ve held about as long a grudge against Theo Fleury when he came into my workplace and referred to me as an “ugly prick” right at my table, yet I’d say time has vindicated me there as well. Nothing wrong whatsoever with a long memory.

But to allay your concerns, like most people, I find pro sports as a catharsis for venting; yes it’s illogical to react emotionally with a 28-year-long “who’s laughing now?” regarding millionaires playing for billionaires, but NOTHING about sports fandom should move us. Once we accept the conceit that it does, chirping back at an obliviously-privileged team’s demise is an easy sell.

So yes, upon reflection, I’d still say I’m at peace with the balance of transgressions — both personal and criminal, with lifetime net costs in the five figure range — that I’ve forgiven, and those I choose to remember.

I have. I would say it's like a smaller version of Denver? The Metro is very spread out but in a pretty strange way. It is maybe 8-10km East to West but it just keeps going and going North to South for about 100-120km (Ogden to Salt Lake City to Provo).

It is an absolutely beautiful place so I think it has that going for it.

If anybody is interested in going to the final Coyotes game in Phoenix...

I was a reply click away from congratulating a certain team in their big win over Edmonton with a “things are definitely looking up” but I’m not ready to get myself banned for life. Yet.

Game is in OT, Jets won't be able to clinch 2nd today
That's alright. Avs still shit the bed good and proper, they had that game won and totally collapsed. They play Oilers their last game with McDavid likely back, Jets have two games to get 1 point. Having their confidence good and shook going into the playoffs is a benefit.

I'd hope to get a point on Tuesday at least and then just rest some guys on Thursday. Doubt that game means much for either team.

Georgiev has given up 30 goals in the last 6 games.............
He's been pretty craptastic this season. I wonder if Colorado has the balls to go with Annunen in the playoffs. He's basically a rookie but has played well in small doses this season.

I'll be at Tuesday's game!

I'm not sure if the Avs should be concerned, but getting blown out and then blowing a lead this late in the season is noteworthy.
Their fans are, they are ready to shoot Georgiev into the sun on their board.

I wonder how much the org values home ice. I would have said that it would be a big advantage vs the Avs to be able to match lines with mackinnon but after that last game, I wonder how much it matters

If guys are banged up, I'd be looking at resting some of them in each game, or both if needed. Chances are we still squeak out a point and/or Avs lose to the Oilers anyway
