1 - a fanbase that LOST their franchise once and was gutted because of it should not be "happy" for another fanbase losing their team.
2 - the both fans comment is so trite.
1. When the team had no right to exist in the first place, and the team’s fan base (as seen on this forum) had no problem chirping us then hiding behind “it’s worse when you do it back to us”, especially when that team has enjoyed *every league-granted privilege imaginable* and frankly some I never could have imagined in advance, I’ll feel no compunction about feeling joy that one of the biggest and longest-running shams in sports history has finally come to an end.
2. When an NHL team is playing in (but not filling) an ECHL-sized stadium, fan base-size jokes have a whole new level of relevance to them.
“Oh, just face the facts, hockey’s never coming back to Winnipeg. We’re your team now, why not come to grips and cheer for us instead?” yeah, I’ll not psychically herniate myself being “better than that”.
