Around the NHL — Episode XLXVII

I haven't watched a lot of Hawks games this season. I really really like Nazar (another 5'10 guy). Bedard needs to find another gear, he doesn't look generational at all

The East WC2 race hangs out by a thread, there's still hope

Demidov was in a tier by himself at #2, and he was much, much closer to Celebrini than he was the guy at 3.

Teams just try to be the smartest people in the room.

I’m just glad he never made it to 7, we’d have undoubtedly ... passed on him for the big RD.

If true, then it absolutely needs to change.

He plays more like Stutzle though. Unfortunately we have no Suzuki. We need a Hutson too but maybe Yakemxhuck can fill that hole.

Hope we wise up and start going for hockey IQ throughout the draft.

Cozens has shown some potential with his 2022-23 season, hopefully he gets back to that level next year. He won't be as good as Suzuki but if he can get closer, that's very good for us. I know we don't have a Hutson but Sanderson and Chabot brings creativity but differently. I hope we add some quickness/creativity. Staios has proven he can be creative so have to see what will be the next moves, pretty good work so far but that drafting dept needs a revamp

Batherson = Caufield is fair

but in terms of Suzuki we have no one who plays like that and it's a big weakness.

need players who understand how to slow the game down.

I still don't see much of a chance for Columbus. They need to win two games in regulation while Habs have to lose in regulation against a Carolina team that will be resting the core. I'd give it like a 10% chance of happening at most.

The way both teams are playing I'd say it's probably closer to 30% chance of Columbus making it in.

Not surprising that balding Gallagher was whining

Gallagher doppelgänger

I don't think it's fair to make fun of someone for being bald.

If someone makes bad fashion choices, or has a stupid chosen haircut, that's one thing because it's more of a choice. Baldness, ugly face, etc - that is more cruel to make fun of someone over something they didn't have control over.

Despite my avatar, I am not bald. (Yet)

Especially when that person is Brendan Gallagher, and there are so many valid and perfectly acceptable things to make fun of them for.

Tonight makes me think that Columbus will get in. It's perfect booking because it gets Columbus in, but it protects Montreal in losing. They also put over Demidov big, and he is obviously in line for a main event push. It's what Pat Patterson would have done.

I wonder what Moneypuck will have it at.

Habs could have clinched 3 games ago, vs the Sens. 3 straight losses and 2 straight CBJ wins have kept this alive.

Hindsight is 20/20 but wish the CBJ beat us one more time
Or we could’ve just played Montreal better this year before that last game. We made them look like Stanley Cup finalists so many times there are people convinced they’re actually good this year.

As a red head when South Park had the gingers have no soul episode era. I say it’s fair game. And also funny. I hate Gallagher because he is a whiny little B**** just like George. The fact they are both bald and ugly is just a bonus while also hilarious.

Bedard looks like playing in Chicago has destroyed all his confidence

He really needs to spend some time with McDavid. Those two guys have similar personalities...McDavid figured out how to navigate the NHL and high expectations as a quiet, introverted kid...Bedard is having difficulties with it. Help him get his mojo back and passion to be the best and fight through all the stuff that comes with being The Guy in the NHL.

Rinzel is gonna be goooood

Hawks sneakily did their job at the draft table... Really liking Rinzel and Nazar

7-1 vs Ottawa + Florida damnit

Let's say Carolina do their job, can we count on the Jackets to win both games vs Flyers and Islanders? I think they have to do it in regulation too

It's possible seriously and that would be an epic choke job and despite some heroics from a few guys, Habs would draft out of the Top-15 while missing the playoffs, which is the best case scenario

Possible but it’s not likely. I think it’s the fact that Montreal can’t get a single point and Columbus can’t even go to OT in either game that makes it even more unlikely.

Suzuki is a better all rounded C than Stu, but he's got a couple of years of development on him.

I think Stu's offensive ability is above Suzuki, but he really needs to show it in the playoffs and next year. He's got the potential to be a regular 90+ point guy but over does it with so many plays. Also needs to stop being so ass on the dot.

Also, f*** the Habs
