Stars are the real frauds. They've benefitted from goal tending this season far more than Winnipeg. Also benefitting from high shooting percentages. Even with Heiskanen, their defencemen still look worse than ours. Imagine having to play Ceci, Lybushkin, and Dumba? LMAO. Lindell is alright, but he's not good on the 2nd pairing by himself, and Bichsel has potential but is basically their Kleven for now.

Heiskanen & Harley are better than Sandy and Chabot. Yes Zub and Jensen compliment Sandy and Chabot pretty well, but DeBoer is able to get the most out of Lybushkin, Dumba and Ceci on the right side.

Otter is playing his career average, DeSmith is playing much better than his trash season last year, but the reason Dallas is such a dominant team is their scoring depth. They've got 5 guys that have hit 20g (6 if Dadanov scores 1 more), 3 that have hit 30 (will probably be 4 if Hintz scores 2 more). 3rd least GA and 5th most GF. They're just a good team with players being consistent for the most part, aside from Duchene being a beast this year.

Yes stars forward group is deadly. But when you look at their goalies goals saved above average, they are getting insane goaltending as well. They're not 2nd in the central good skater wise.

Idk if I'd bet on a significant step back, they should be adding Demidov, plus they lost both Dach and Laine for significant chunks of the season.

Demidov is the wild card there for sure.

I don’t think Dach is that good and he misses so much time every year so I’m not betting on his health. Laine is a PP specialist but in fairness their PP could be absolutely deadly next season. Although I don’t know who Demidov would replace - presumably Slaf based on numbers, but I don’t know if Montreal will want to do that.

In baseball they always say not to believe anything you see in April or September. Similarly, in hockey I would say not to believe anything you see in the first ten games or the last ten. Right now you have teams either playing out the string, or thinking ahead to the playoffs and subconsciously preserving their mental and physical energy for that. Streaks in the last ten games, either good or bad, disappear like mist come game one of the playoffs. This snoozer of a Habs-Leafs game is Exhibit A...

A bad team that rode an unbelievably lucky and unsustainable PP streak to a winning streak to keep them in the playoff race.

They both played so badly though. Neither could score on a team playing so badly even while mtl is fighting for their life. They had 8 shots total up until the last few mins of the game.

I don't know... Stars are my model for how to build a roster. Are they your Wings of the West? lol

Heiskanen, Harley and Lindell is incredible Top-3. Dumba has really declined so he's more depth now but Ceci was a good add. He's +15 in 28 games for them although he doesn't have good metrics. And their forward group is just awesome
