More and more teams are going to run 3 goalies. Both Silovs and Demko have injury issues too, so Vancouver might run all three.

You know...the way the league is changing, I have to wonder if in the next CBA they expand roster limits by one so that teams can carry a 3rd netminder. Would also eliminate the need for home teams to provide an emergency on standby.

Tim Peel has 7 brain cells in his body and 5 are ‘disappointed’ in Canada and the other 2 are staring At a shirtless photo of Alex Ovechkin.

I would guess teams would carry a 7th D rather than a 3rd goalie if roster sizes were to increase by one player. It would be funny to see a team replacing goalies three times in a game to try to turn their fortunes around.

Not having Norris & Pinto would probably have been a large factor in that scoring chance differential.

The idea of moving Norris to get out of his contract does have appeal, but if he’s gone, we’ll need a good, viable replacement. Right now, one of our strengths is having 3 good centers. Pinto could move up, but we’d still need another center. It sounds easy enough to move him to free up some salary, but ending up with an equivalent (or better) replacement is the much more challenging & harder to execute part.

Moving Norris for spare parts would be a mistake imo. He's a solid two way forward, getting well above average QOC and 39% oz starts. We don't really have anyone that can absorb those mins especially since Pinto is already getting tough mins, and you aren't getting someone for cheap.
Ya, I hope Norris comes back soon, stays healthy and finishes the remaining games. Maybe (?) the idea of him being perennially injured will change then? In the ideal world, it would be good if we had another skilled, good top 6 forward. You could move Norris to wing, but then I think we’d need another good center. Hopefully Staois can add to the lineup versus subtracting, and add quality of course.

IIRC, we had the Islanders 1st before the season in 2019-20... so in an alternate reality, wish they would have crapped their season and we ended up with Rossi! Even tough I'm a big Greig fan

Teams already carry 7 Ds... ... ... ...

And of course, if/when teams will be allowed to carry 3 goalies, only 2 would be dressed per game.

Imagine this 2020 draft:

Stutzle
Sanderson
Rossi
Peterka
Kleven
(Sokolov)
Merilainen
(Engstrand)
(Daoust)
Reinhardt

The Washington Capitals are quite the story this year with the moves Chris Patrick made and how they’re being coached by Spence Carbery.

Pretty amazing things happening there rn.
