I don't get Buffalo's system, like almost all of their forwards and DMAN are scoring at unsustainable paces. Even their bottom pairing Dman are scoring at unsustainable paces and we all know they're not good offensively whatsoever.

Quinn was so bad in that game. Hope tage isn't out long but it's good for the sens. Buffalo have a lot of good pieces we will probably be battling them all year.

Marco Rossi with 13 pts in 15 games so far this season and a +5, making me proud for believing in him!

I wanted to draft him at #5OA, but clearly Sanderson has been the better choice so far.

Where would Rossi go in a redraft?

Sounds like another team we all know

Could you be more precise?

:sarcasm:

Yup. NHL goaltenders just seem to be like that for the most part. Capable as any at the best of times, total train wreck at others, and plenty of in between.

Goaltending is one if not the most difficult position in all sports. It’s much harder than it looks. Every NHLer is elite at hockey, facing them night after night is a very tall task

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I don’t give as much credit to goalies as most fans do and opposedly, I also don’t blame them as much… Goalies will most of the time be the reflection of the team in front of them. Frankly, the job can only be really understood if you did it on a regular basis.

6 goals on 22 shots don’t necessarily mean much, it’s frustrating as you can’t like these odds but that’s what can happen when the goalie can’t repair the many mistakes in front of him. Plus, like other players, goalies can also make mistakes as hockey is a sport of error (every ex NHLer regularly says that on TV/radio)

Beauty about goaltending is the guy that looked like he did it the worst did it the best - Hasek

Sabers are on a drug called Zach Smith

And the guy that looked like a Vezina winner against the Sens lets in 6 on 22 shots.

I didn't watch the game but I just looked at the Habs goals and frankly there's not even one that the goalie was supposed to save. I guess the "easiest", as crazy as it sounds, was Suzuki's point blank one timer from the slot.

Breakaway and great shot, 5 on 3 PP deflection, odd-men rush one timer, one timer from the slot on a turnover, another slot shot with all the time in the world and double screen, PP goal from Caufield in an empty net as the goalie had to cover the other post. Sabres defense was probably just terrible in that game.

But not going to complain, we need the Habs to win more games and the Sabres to lose more.

GAA and SV% don't mean much over small sample sizes and playing for certain teams can certainly affect your numbers, like I have been saying for years regarding Sens goalies. Look at Ullmark numbers right now vs when he was with the Bruins... and we're much much better defensively right now than we have been during the rebuild.

Who is Zach Smith?

Of the 4 divisions, the Atlantic and the Central have the separation between team 5 and teams 3/4 (number of games played complicate things), is relatively small.

So a 2-3 game win streak, coupled with a 2-3 game losing streak can dramatically alter standings.
