The season is technically underway, with the Global Series between the Sabres and the Devils in Prague, Czechia. Both teams are not playing well IMO, but to be expected this early in the season. Markstrom already with a save of the year candidate.

They're playing again like they played two years ago, when Brunette was their assistant. They stretch the ice a lot and have good team speed, it's going to be very effective in the regular season. The playoffs will be different though, I don't think they're constructed or their style fits well against a defensive team like us.

That fan base truly is in the gutter of sports right now with their team. Just two games in but they were severely outplayed in both. Would surprise no one if they continue their nhl record streak of missing the playoffs.

Their issue last year was goaltending not coaching.

Probably because he was the coach the last time they were relevant when they were actually a pretty good hockey team. Think they won presidents trophy this was like back in 07 or something. They had Miller, Briere, Vanek and even Brian Campbell lol
Remember it was one of the games I went to see that year at the arena when I lived in South Florida.
