LA is done, if it wasn't obvious already
They need to pretty much win out to have any shot at all. Donezo.

Look out NHL. The canes are 7-0-3 in their last 10. It'll take a miracle for the canes to make the playoffs, but that would be hilarious after the bandwagon draft
Canes have done this routine before
Late season run to ruin draft pick and then disappoint fans in end
Please let the Freddie injury not be serious.

Mc-El-hin-ney! *clap clap clapclapclap*
Could a team like the Stars waive Niemi, knowing that non-playoff teams wouldn't want him and most other teams wouldn't need him, then Toronto claims him for the last few games of the regular season? Assuming Dallas would get out from under his contract (if they wanted to) and maybe they would be "owed" some future sweetheart deal from Toronto (Next time they have a player available, then Dallas would be the first team they call) or does it not work like that?
Looks like he has 4.5 mil coming next year. Not likely that he has much value this off-season.
Knights and the League itself have to be sweating bullets now. They've got two years of Las Vegas to themselves before the Raiders move into town. Can only hope for their sake that the market's big enough for two pro teams, otherwise I think we can safely guess which team will get the short end of the stick when push comes to shove. Team will have a death watch in place now even before their first puck drop.
Yeah NFL/NHL can coexist in a smaller market (Look at Nashville and Buffalo for instance)
Its if the NBA ever arrives that there should be some concern
LV is continuing to grow and has a lot of corporate $$$ available IMO to handle both franchises
