The guy has a history of going after the nuts in particular. Which is a serious ***** move. After he's done it at least half a dozen times and that's just that I can find videos on. He has a history of slewfoots too, which can be a suspendable offense. But he has no history because the NHL has never punished him for any of it. Can't be a repeat offender if the NHL won't even give you a first offense. There's a reason numerous players, coaches, and analysts have called him one of the dirtiest players in the NHL, and there's only one way he could get that reputation...

Well, bottom line is everyone else on the ice in this league knows he just chopped at some guys privates then chopped a finger off the next night with no discipline. To think there's not going to be another seriously dirty hit on Sid is short-sighted. When the league lets this stuff go bad things happen.

Sure. If you can find one guy that has gotten away with ALL of that ****, feel free. I'll save you the trouble. You won't find one. He's dirty. And he gets away with it because of who he is. Think how hard that slash had to be to shatter Methot's finger and sever the tip of it, basically. Then imagine that same slash, with even more potential force lifting up and hitting you in the nuts. It's ridiculous he continues to get away with the **** he does. And I can bet he ends up concussed again and possibly finished playing hockey because players are going to start taking things into their own hands. Someone is gonna take a run at him again. And he'll have deserved whatever comes of it.

You asked for examples of things he's done that others have been suspended for. Every clip above is an example. You're as wrong as can be.

I'm sure I can find youtube clips of guys cup checking others without getting suspended.
The elbow he gave to Foligno happens frequently in the NHL, certainly not hard enough or malicious enough to deserve a suspension.
Players have started wailing on an unsuspected player many of times with no suspension. And no suspensioon is warranted for doing so, a simple 5min major would suffice.

I really see nothing in those videos that Crosby got away with that other players don't. Players slew foot, cup check, jump guys, slash, etc all the time and don't get suspended.

I don't think he should be suspended for the slash. I think he needs to be suspended though. He has absolutely no history and that's outrageous, and screams preferential treatment.

BTW, slewfooting, and spearing are both offenses that are subject to supplementary discipline from the DoPS. Players are constantly fined and/or suspended for these offenses, particularly when they have a history. The problem with Crosby is they won't give him a first offense so he isn't being categorized as a repeat offender when he should be. He hasn't been fined OR suspended for any of this BS.

The fact that he's never received a major penalty, suspension, fine, or game misconduct for any of his dirty play is ludicrous. You're wrong on this one, man.

If he's suspended for the spear on ROR, even just one game, then he doesn't shatter Methot's finger... And a playoff team doesn't lose a solid player for what is likely the entire first round, if not more. And Sid finally gets his first offense putting him into the mix for "repeat offender" status moving forward. But alas, his status as the NHL's golden boy keeps it from happening yet again.

Yeah Im pretty sure there isn't anyone here who really thinks the Hawks are that much better than the rest of the west. Its just the other top two teams are slumping at an inopportune time.

I prefer to call him Curtis Backuphinney.

He's actually been decent on the whole for Toronto with only a couple of rough spots, but if the Andersen injury is serious, the Leafs might be in some trouble. Bibeau, their third stringer, has been absolutely god-awful this year.
