I know there is some Kotkaniemi fans in here, and some have mentioned him as a target for our center problems.

The Canucks did have a GM with a law degree not too long ago...

I'm pretty sure that's steve tambellini
so the finals matchup could be set tomorrow and it's potentially six days between games???
what is this dumb f***ing league's obsession with playing hockey games deep into june????
So the Canes and Brind'Amour need another, what, 21 years and 9 more trips to the ECF to get the necessary to finally win it?
Also, the big break between the conference finals and Stanley Cup final is stupid. No idea why they have started doing this. In the summer it does not take people more than a day or two to forget about something if it's not constantly in their face.
Amazingly, he can still be bought out of his contract at 1/3 in June 2026. Wonder if Carolina would actually do that? His claim to fame was signing that offer sheet. Yeah, he ass dawg.
Really the team executives should be anyone who aren't "hockey men", but alas. This is the NHL and 20 of the teams are run by people who are frankly stupid.
typically the former players who went on to get a law degree and become GM were the lower end players. Be it Quinn, Burke, Gillis, etc. However, over the past decade, we've seen more and more former top level players become GMs. Blake, Sakic, Yzerman, Guerin, etc.Really the team executives should be anyone who aren't "hockey men", but alas. But unfortunately Castonguay has a major handicap in the eyes of many...being, gasp, female!I mean, Castonguay has a pretty similar CV.

By Hockey Men I mean guys who've literally only played hockey in their lives (no other career or education) and then went straight into management.typically the former players who went on to get a law degree and become GM were the lower end players. No one way to become a good GM. Most of the NFL GMs never played in the NFL or if they did, they didn't last long. Lynch in SF is a rare exception.
Imagine Castonguay having a trade call with Jim Benning. But unfortunately Castonguay has a major handicap in the eyes of many...being, gasp, female!
I believe there are 6 women in AGM roles now. So it is only a matter of time. Well past time.
Castonguay, Granato, Hunter, Madigan, Mandrycky, Wickenheiser

2009 was actually the shortest turnaround with 3 days between the Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Finals which included 4 SCF games within 6 days.so the finals matchup could be set tomorrow and it's potentially six days between games???
