Would be thrilled if Hawks walked out of the draft with 3rd pick, Rossi for 25OA and Howard for 34OA...the top 6 starts to look pretty interesting at that point.
What would you pencil in as a projected top 6 in 2026? I was thinking if you add Rossi and Howard it looks like this potentially...pick Martone at 3 since you addressed C with RossiYou get Rossi for 25+ you're done with Howard. He's like the one guy on the market available for futures that makes sense.
Staple him to Bedard and you've got got a 30/40 guy for the next seven years.

Howard-Nazar-Bedard
Boisvert-Rossi-Martone
the faster we get Bertuzzi and Turbo into 3rd line roles the closer the forward depth will be where we ultimately want it to be imo...especially BertuzziRossi - Bedard - Bertuzzi
? - Nazar - Turbo
Let a kid grow into and earn the unknown spot and your top six isn't trash. Have Rossi take FO's and it gives Bedard an actual threat to the point teams can't key in on him.
I don't like Bertuzzi on the top line because I love Bertuzzi I like him with those two because he's a great style fit. The third wheel net front guy is extremely replaceable. Rossi would be the kind of guy he could play a soft cycle with.the faster we get Bertuzzi and Turbo into 3rd line roles the closer the forward depth will be where we ultimately want it to be imo...especially Bertuzzi
in an ideal world Dickenson and Foligno are not on this rosterBertuzzi no where near the top 6 please. Keep him on the third line with Dickenson and/or Foligno
whyAny chance you get Brazal for 3OA? Darche gets to start a rebuild with 1 and 3
______-Bedard-Barzal
______-Nazar-Barzal
I'd take either line
Barzwl gives you an instant upgrade to your top 6. He is locked into a contract which will be manageable as the cap continues to rise. He has speed and skill while being listed at 6'1". Many are saying that outside of Schafer and Misa that the ceiling of the next two players is a third liner, maybe middle 6. Why not spend it on a proven top line fwd?
next year doesn't matter...they trade for Barzal and finish 5th worst and its a year of his prime, just make the pick and send them wherever for a development year and hope for another high end forward in 2026 draftBarzwl gives you an instant upgrade to your top 6. I beg to differ. These boys need structure and they need high-end players to play with. Whether Barzal is the answer or not. Bedard and Nazar need players that they can make plays with at a high-skill/speed level.next year doesn't matter...they trade for Barzal and finish 5th worst and its a year of his prime, just make the pick and send them wherever for a development year and hope for another high end forward in 2026 draft
Barzal will be in his 30s when this team is in its competetive window no thanksBarzwl gives you an instant upgrade to your top 6. Starts to sound that Bedard is in his 30s when this team is competive.Barzal will be in his 30s when this team is in its competetive window no thanks
I’d take Nelson and Granlund in a secondI hope I'm wrong but I'm starting to think that the Hawks are gonna miss on the big fish and end up with resigning Donato and guys like Brock Nelson and Mikael Granlund with 2 year high AAV deals and no NTCs.
But this will fill out the roster for next year and allow them to sell at the deadline if needed. It will also give them one more year to see what they have in the kids before they spend big in free agency. They'll have another year of data on if Bedard really is a center or if Nazar can be as good as we think. Can Rinzel really be a top pair guy and could Sacha Boisvert be a legit 2C? What is Oliver Moore? What is Nick Lardis? Will Korchinski and Levshunov take another step forward?
It might be good to have more data on these things before giving high AAV and term to players in their late 20s.
Lol, who else is going to play in the top 6? I highly doubt they add multiple top 6 players in the offseason.Bertuzzi no where near the top 6 please. Keep him on the third line with Dickenson and/or Foligno

I think this is the last year here. It has to be for Foligno. Can't have a captain on your 4th line and or sitting in the press box.in an ideal world Dickenson and Foligno are not on this roster
perhaps Nick will call it a career after this seasonI think this is the last year here. It has to be for Foligno. Can't have a captain on your 4th line and or sitting in the press box.
Yes because trading a top 3 pick for a 28 year old who likely has only 4 years left of elite play is totally the move.Starts to sound that Bedard is in his 30s when this team is competive.
