About that...

Yes I know some of the coming renovations are supposed to fix this issue

It's a franchise tradition. While I know technically this is a new franchise, we all know its ties back to the Jets/Coyotes.

*Ahem* Anyway...

Back when the original Winnipeg Jets were here, the old Winnipeg Arena had several rows of seats in the south end obstructed, albeit in that case, it was the net on the far side that was obscured by the rafters.

I grew up in Winnipeg and you are correct, the old Winnipeg Arena had some spots where you couldn’t see the ice level. They installed small tvs that way you can see where the action is.

Just to add to my point regarding the obstructed view seats at the Winnipeg Arena...you see the pale blue seats on the right side of the seating chart? Yeah, those are the ones. Those seats were just over half the price ($12) than the ones below them ($25) at that time (1994-95).

For a better visual of which seats were obstructed view when the original Jets were here, here's a photo I took during a Manitoba Moose game in 2001. See the seats that are covered with advertisements? Yeah, those are the ones.

It's a massive renovation to change the structure. But, Smith was willing to play nice with the NHL thus he was the one tabbed to take the Coyotes vs Fertitta who went public about his views on expansion prices.

You know what really grinds my gears... regional blackouts.

Right in the same tier as NINE SN channels, zero of which have tonight's game in Abby.

Cool cool cool cool. Very cool. Cool..

To be fair, and I completely agree with you, this isn’t a case of regional blackout. This is Sportsnet not wanting to spend money to set up their equipment and pay people to cover the game.

I’m honestly really happy for Montreal, this lane Hutson kid is the real deal, and he reminds me so much of Quinn, Hughes man.
His skating is very similar, he uses his edges to keep moving forward no matter how his body is oriented. And his vision and ability to collapse coverage and pass away to open ice.

His skating is nowhere near Quinn's level, imho.he has trouble skating backwards and tries to defend without doing so. If he could skate like Quinn he wouldn't have gone in the 2nd round, his size is an issue but small dmen who can skate at an elite level and put up points are snatched up, especially now

I disagree, it's similar in style and pretty effective even now with nearly no NHL coaching. He's 20 years old.

You're currently having a conversation about a small dman who is universally regarded as an elite skater, put up points, and was drafted late in the 2nd round.
