all lehner had to do to collect 4.5m was to show up for one physical. what an idiot

I usually fall pretty neutral on the Vegas shenanigans but there’s nothing to this and I’m 100% with Vegas. Guy has one job - show up. He didn’t. It’s that simple. Void it.

It's hard to judge. The guy is bankrupt but at the same time he is bipolar. But ya if I was his agent I would triple and quadruple check and ensure he shows up for his physical.

he's also an alcoholic and has a history of drug abuse. when he goes off (on?) the rails it could be quite a clusterphuck. Hopefully he's okay....despite the fame and fortune*....dude has not had an easy life at all.

Already been what like 3 seasons since Getzlaf retired? He had the same term as Perry and Perry was bought out, and played with Dal, Mon, TB, TB, Edm. So, they've gone 3 seasons without one.
Figured it will eventually land with MacTavish, but really no reason to add that pressure to a guy going into his 3rd NHL season.

Never a fan of rushing to give the C to a budding star player in his early 20's. C is overrated IMO in hockey.

Seider 7 years 8.55MM

Now maybe'll they'll stop giving him the Sisyphus deployment and let him actually contribute offensively.

Unless Edvinsson develops fast, the rest of their defence is so suspect. Who's Seider's best partner? Chiarot? Gustafsson? Holl? Petry? Maata?

Seider will play the hard minutes. Allow someone else to help SE along. Maybe in a couple years they play together or they each anchor a pairing.

Managed to get both Raymond and seider in for term at under $17 mill combined.

'We're trying to terminate a guy dealing with mental illness but we're not sure how that works or if the league/PA will let us'

Watch Vegas get out from under Lehner's cap hit while continuing to pay Lehner.

While rules are rules and a contract is a contract, it seems silly that everything hinges on Lehner showing up to expectedly fail a physical. McCrimmon is admitting here that Lehner is unfit to play.

His contract would be covered by insurance, so they have to meet whatever obligations they need to provide to the insurance company before they would reimburse the Knights.

Is it confirmed that his contract is covered by insurance?

I was going to question the same thing because I could see that being an interesting one to try and get insured

Ya it's an interesting one. Arguably, Lehner isn't playing because of his hip injury so even if his contract is insured but with a mental health exclusion there may be a case for a payout here. Then again, is Lehner disabled from playing because of his hip? Luongo wasn't disabled from playing after his hip injury but it sounds like he could easily have said he couldn't play anymore at the time.

I find it disappointing that both Celebrini and Bedard's favorite road city is Boston.

That isn't surprising. I know even Leaf fans have surprisingly nice things to say about Boston as a city and even some of their fans at the games.

Everyone I know that's traveled to Boston has nothing but great things to say about the city.

Which dumbass

I've been refusing to say his name since the playoffs, because he's a gigantic loser. But to summarize some key points - he thinks Vancouver fans are douchey, likes Oilers fans because they wear jeans and blue collars, had the news and lead the cheerleading charge for Stan Bowman returning to the NHL for the Oilers, and is now somehow sitting there "baffled" that a noted asshole like Tony Deangelo is sitting without a contract.

If I missed any of this moron's greatest hits, someone feel free to fill in the blanks.
