He's exactly right. The Broberg one has worked out for St. Louis but it was a really high AAV based on anything Broberg had shown so far and you could understand not matching.

But the Holloway one was small potatoes to match and should have just been a no-brainer based on his age and skillset and play in the 2024 playoffs.
Not matching Holloway just feels petty. “How dare you accept an offer sheet”

Considering the sheer arrogance of Bowman and Chicago when he was there, I don't doubt for a second that's likely what happened. They were probably annoyed he wasn't "patient" then pissed he'd sign an offer sheet.

Jokes on them because now they all look like complete morons.

Everything fell right for the Blues. Edm, had a transition in their GM from Holland to a temp before Bowman takes over. They spend in Free Agency and push the RFA deals on the back burner. Limited cap to get them done so needed them in at like a low amount. Got caught by the Blues offering just under the max for the 2nd and 3rd round pick comps.

But, Holloway should have been a match.

That sentiment seemed to flow into the fanbase who felt Holloway should have stayed to put up bigger numbers in EDM and get paid later.

there is an news article about the refs attempting to rig the game for Canadiens vs Panthers. The ref clearly favors the Panthers to win the game. I think its no longer conspiracy that the refs hate Canadian teams. They stole the cup from us in 2011, and they are trying to get as many Canadian teams as possible to miss the playoffs.

that sucked, i rather Amazon took over the broadcasting rights
Would prefer* a new 16 team league take form, with actual officiating and a commissioner that is not morally beyond bankrupt

*Who am I kidding, I love Bettman and I can't wait for the 40 team league where the games are as rigged as they are now and player "safety" continues to be the definition of oxymoron in the oxford dictionary

emphasis on the moron

Oh, for crying out loud...Rogers sucks so bad. I thought all the signs were pointing to Prime Video taking it over.

Big eff word. Bracing myself for 12 more years of Ron MacLean's awful, acid-baked poetry, and blind homerism from ex-Oilers.

I don’t know about 12 years…Ron’s gotta retire at some point. Not all that enthused, but at least they got Hockey Night back on track after they lost the plot there.

Enshittification of everything continues.

That's an expensive deal which likely means Rogers is scheming up ways to scam our collective asses. I could see them moving towards a multi-tier subscription service which forces us to pay extra for certain games.

That white frozen water between the ad boards is prime real estate for more digital ads

There's some feelings of mistreatment especially in Broberg's case as well.

Acid-baked poetry. Lmao that was good

The deal is a nightmare and you can only hope they sell off majority of the games

I don’t think it was ever realistic to think that Amazon would get the TV rights in Canada.

Selfishly, I don’t think it would be a positive experience for Canucks fans unless Amazon also hired Shorthouse and Murphy.

The only saving grace of Rogers is Shorty, Murph, and whoever's on colour. Tomlinson is fine, Ferraro is awesome. Sportsnet has murdered the pre and post game shows, and centralizing all of their panels and segments rather than having local coverage has really hurt, too.

It feels like the league has an agenda to get us to stop watching hockey. They're creeping ever closer to succeeding.

Minnesota still down

If they lose, it’s a big one for them
