Around the League Thread | Post Purge

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Do you mean for this season or long term?
Kraken have until the Sonics return to capture their market. Really just a matter of time of when thr nba announces expansion to Seattle and LV. Seattle would start first as I believe LV bid will need to build a new arena and no reason to temporarily play in the Knights Arena. They don’t need to have both clubs start in the same year. Better for expansion draft for them to be 2 years apart.

The seattle hockey market is pretty decent and doesn't really matter if the sonics are there or not, hockey has a ceiling in the states and Seattle will easily get there.

It would be weird if their pipeline didn’t look better than ours.

In one of my replies to someone I didn't send I quickly counted the # of u23 players that suited up for both our farm teams thus far.

Imagine my initial shock when I believe the Nucks had 18 or 19 total and Seattle only had 16 or 17.

Then I looked at the quality of the 17 compared to us.

Let me tell you, it wasnt good for us.

I occasionally channel-surf and catch a couple of the Seattle news affiliates on TV. It's the Seahawks all day, every-day. Then it's 'the Dogs' as they're affectionately known at the University of Washington; followed by the Mariners and the Sounders, who flip-flop, based on how close the playoffs are.

The Kraken? Based on local news outlets, you'd be hard-pressed to know there's even an NHL team in town. Vancouver and Seattle are only 120 miles apart. But in terms of hockey, they might as well at the North and South Poles.

People still watch the news? I live here and there are always people wearing Kraken gear walking around.

Ironic that coffee is saying this eh?
Gotta love the PNW.

Also, wetcoast, I know you usually are busy on mains working away, so I always enjoy anytime I see you hanging out on the Canucks home boards from where you came from

Being on the mian boards is literally a coping mechanism from being a lifelong Cancuk fan in my mid 50s.

I have to admire the grit adn determination of the team this season but to waht end?

I've seen this movie all too often and I'd wish that for once we had management here that would build a real foundation for the future.

The offseason and preseason next year will be the usual "7 well if this happens we are in great shape" chatter.

At this point I'm a little worried that we got too over excited about our top 2 prospects who might turn out okay but not as important as we were hoping.
