I don't mind Kessel .... he was no good for the Leafs ... but I wish him well.

This Kessel was my favorite player on the leafs, because i took him for what he was and what we got him for.

He put up great numbers and had elite talent, but was always bashed for being something hes not and was never suppose to be.

I understand why we let him go and i agree with it, he relied on his skill and kinda slacked off when it came to practice and it would'n't be a role model for a rebuild team.

It's a weird time for hockey.

Arizona is off to a 3-0 lead. Mike Smith has two goals against in three games, and a .981 SV%.

Sharks are also 3-0. Martin Jones has one goal against in three games, and a .987 SV%.

Michael Neuvirth has two shutouts in two games.

Vancouver is on top of the Pacific, without a regulation loss yet.

Sergei Bobrovsky, just a few years removed from his Vezina, has 18 goals against in 4 games and .850 SV%.

Pittsburgh, after adding firepower over the offseason, has gone 0-3, including getting shut out by Dallas.

The only part about this season that went according to my predictions is Toronto sucking.

Duclair had his first career nhl hatty last night. Him and domi looking pretty good in 3 games so far.

Jeff O'Neil will be happy. He thinks Coyotes are the real deal while Hayes thinks they're flukey. They got into a debate about this the other day. I could feel O'Neil's rage.

Arizona did not get the memo that they were supposed to be **** lol

Arizona is benefiting from "playing the kids" as Duclair and Domi charge up the rookie race.

They make the Coyotes faster, younger and more dangerous.

Leafs are using the opposite strategy of a veteran line-up.

It's been three games. THREE GAMES people. The season is a whole lot longer than three games. We're a full week into the season. Just one. Let's reign in the talk about predictions going wrong, the Leafs getting screwed by getting a non lotto protected first from the Penguins, etc etc.

There's still like the majority of the season and 79 more games to go lol

They will be playing the kids probably in a year or 2. We need to stock up more high quality picks. Nylander, Brown (hopefully Kapenen if he develops more) and more. They will be staying far away from this mess for now, but will be coming up with a vengeance. Hopefully by that time there will be big steps by Marner, so he can join as well.. but that depends on his growth physically as well as development.

The best pre-game bar in Buffalo is Washington Squares - authentic wings and Rolling Rocks. Thread was locked way too early.

I know it's one week. Things happen, randomly.

In the middle of the season it would be interesting, but not surprising to have a couple of those things happen. But it's a lot of unexpected trends for any week.

My god Steen should be part of our rebuild. I hate watching any highlights from him.

He'd be the perfect veteran when the younger stars mature.

Hearing Hall's post game comments... You gotta wonder if some of their young talented guys are just getting eaten by the consistent losing. It's gotta take a toll eventually.

I had to go listen to it - and quite frankly, that is 100 percent the reason why Nylander et.al are in the Minors. (and why I am worried(ish) about Jake, Morgan, and Naz to an extent). losing all the time sucks monkey butt. and Edmonton has doing it for yeaaaaars. like that's all they know basically, and there's only so much you can be "horrah!! moral victories!"

we (Leafs) can have that now because we suuuuuuuuuuuuucked but for Edmonton? eessh.

Dont worry. Sakic and later on Forsberg started their careers with the Nordiques. They did not only struggle on the ice but had to move their whole franchise. They survived.

Kane and Toews did not only join a struggling franchise with lots of players coming and going, they quickly become the go to guys. They survived.

Islanders with JT is doing just fine but they have been through a lot over the years, on and off the ice.

There is lots of examples of players who start on struggling teams but becomes the reasons the franchise eventually turns it around.

Now Edmonton seem to be a mess but are they really any worse then the Nordiques, Chicago and Islanders just a couple of years before they become contenders?

I dont feel comfortable with Kadri or Jake but not because of the losing they have been through but because they are not bright enough to become the key players their talent could have them be. Morgan on the other hand will turn out just fine.
