Be careful what you wish for. VGK fans are obnoxious in person, but just imagine the deluge of elitist Canadian bullshit online if Montreal wins the Cup.

One way or another, I'd like the Islanders to win it all this season even more than the hometown Knights. Isles deserve it, and what a huge middle finger to Tavares for jumping ship to Toronto.

My only loyalty to MTL ended tonight. I just wanted Vegas out. At least MTL fans can point up to the rafters and show they've won something, Vegas fans have been acting like that since year one. The Isles would be a good pick to win it all.

Stick a fork, er, sword in them! They're done baby!!!

How apropo is this gif!?!? ...amarite?

Stone was absolutely MIA in this series.

Marty was good but I'm sorry I'm not rooting for your ass to win again, especially on f***ing Vegas.

Caufield is playing exactly like how I said he would... with a giant sized chip on his shoulder.

Kid has giant sized brass balls and people still continue to piss on him. Unbelievable.

Vegas is so close, they just needs a couple small pieces (proven veteran winners) and a new assistant coach. That power play was worse than the Kings and that's saying something, absolutely wretched. Spott is a total disaster and was hopefully fired before the handshake line. Both Lehner and Fleury were incredible this season and Pietrangelo was well worth the $$$, he was unbelievable all season. Theodore was a disaster this series, turnovers left and right. Just need a couple tweaks, nothing major. Vegas is an elite team and still have a couple years left for their window.

Shame Martinez was out there for the GW goal, and got beat while doing it. Shades of playing with Muzzin. What a shame indeed.

And the turnover , although he did make up for it with the goal.
Martinez reminds me of the cool guy who'd go and play for the Ducks and then turn into an asshole. He's taken the persona of the team.

I think the hockey gods are magnanimous but just. They’re giving the new fanbase some exciting playoff hockey and contendership without actually winning anything. I don’t see much of an issue there.

Not sure what they were doing in ‘96 with the Avs, but that’s beside the point.

Meh, what else is he going to say? I love Amart, still will, but I am very glad Vegas isn’t in the mix anymore. Now I don’t care too much who wins, but I think I am against the Habs. I love Toffoli, but I still I don’t want to see the Habs win the first time back since ‘93… But if they did, it’s been like two decades and no one in the organization is the same.

Whether or not people are talking about Suzuki/Caufield isn't the point. The point is they have young guys coming in and producing and having an impact.

Been a long time since the Kings had young guys be impactful. Vilardi showed it for 10 games then faded.

BTW, "In a few years" Kaliyev and Turcotte will be 22 each. Suzuki and Caufield started having impact in the NHL as 20 year olds.

Maybe Byfield will be the guy. My money would be on Kaliyev though.

Vilardi and Andersson will both be 22 this season. Maybe they'll start doing something. If they don't they're probably just not very good.

Vilardi like all young guys hit the wall [all the rookies did]. This is his first real near full season in like 3 years. I'm willing to cut him some slack. Before you annoit Caufield as the second coming of Martin St.Louis. let see what he does in his first full season once teams zero in on him game after game. He's riding the sexy pick wave right now, but the wave will come crashing down at some point. I wonder if the Kings drafted Jack Hughes you'd be this close to writing him off too before he turns 22. Give these guys some time to develop before writing them off because they're not stars a few years after being drafted.

Phillip Danault is gonna get paid.

He's earned it. ZERO points for C Stone in the series (!) and was in on the series winning goal.

Dude has "it."

Very disappointing. Never, ever, ever would I root for Montreal. EVER. Having that human dirtbag Alex Burrows as an assistant coach sends it over the edge. f*** that guy, I hope the Islanders or Lightning smoke them.

They've served their purpose. Now they can f*** right off.

Rooting for:
Islanders
Canadiens
Lightning

Same but

Islanders

Canadiens

I don't want to spam the boards but imagine 10 more posts before the Lightning

"I think that's a good thing that he's thinking about what I'm going to do, so I'm just taking that into next game. It's good that he's kind of opening his mouth."

Galaxy brain logic there. It's called a scouting report, every team scouts every opposing player and their technique/habit. Lehner was asked directly about the breakaway save. Don't flatter yourself kid.

Shame Armia didn't get the same NBC nut swinging act, 'cause he was better than Caufield in that series. Dude never had more than four or five good shifts in any game and they covered him like he is the new McDavid. Hell of a shot though, can't take that away from him.

I have no problem with the kid and he's obviously very skilled, but good lord, Pierre just never shut the hell up about Caufield. The constant closeups were also very annoying, he has more quirks than a baseball player.

CC is one of the best goal scorers to ever come through the USA development system. Ever. I'm pretty comfortable anointing him as a top 6 forward in the NHL who will score 20 plus in his first full season by the age of 21. Can't say that about any Kings player drafted since Kopitar.

Jack Hughes scored at a 45 point pace as a 19 year old. That's pretty good.

As for Vilardi/Andersson I'm just saying if they can't produce 45+ points this coming season they're probably not very good players. It doesn't guarantee it though.

Good players produce. And they produce quickly.

Sure, I just love that he went out and backed it up by roofing the f*** out of it

I know a lot of people don't like Dennis Bernstein or the Hoven, but that quote from Martinez made me think about something they discussed on the podcast awhile back.

They mentioned that Amart had been very salty in the locker room his last year here. Reading that quote from him certainly sounds like a little jab at the Kings. I get the impression he has something against LA, like something went down here that put him on bad terms.

I don't think any of the vets were cool with the rebuild decision. They didn't want to leave LA, I mean Manhattan Beach.

They all seemed to love Dean. Blake blew it up. That's on them for playing so poorly though.
