Geez…

I hadn’t been following Kuzmenko at all this year after the hot start (other than I knew he wasn’t doing so great):

24GP 1G 8A 9PTS

…after the hot start 5 point in 4 games, he’s put up:

20GP 0G 4A 4PTS

Nhl refs are just so so bad, so bad.

It's become a really glaring problem, every team, every gdt has tons of ref complaints.
Every game I watch (alot), has seemingly multiple horrible botched calls, game management makeup bs calls, super soft calls followed up by no calls on a worse infractions.

Between this and mlb umps it's becoming unwatchable.

Right on queue Oilers get a PP with 3 minutes left in a tie game despite committing countless penalties the shift prior.

Yep..
I turned the TV off after that idc what happens, it's relentless game after game ...

Thought about posting the same thing, but then thought why bother it's so frequent and went to get a weekend gummy bear instead. But figured I'd reply before zzzzz.

They were 12-4-1 when they decided to leak that key veterans were available and might be doing a shake-up, and are now en route to losing their 5th in a row since that announcement.

Whoops.

I was coming on for two points:

#1 is what is up with the Rags. Didn't see that they were trying to move vets. Dumb dumb dumb.

#2 is the Sharks are starting to form into an interesting team. They are probably still a couple of years away but they got some huge pieces there now.

At least it’s not the EPL and we aren’t watching games knowing that the refs have been openly bribed.

I'm actually very impressed with what Grier has pulled off - I never thought San Jose would be able to clear salary the way they did. Landing Askarov was a coup as well.

Have a suspicion Jiricek is going to end up in San Jose, too.

He's got Chicago Bedards as the "example" - it's fine and dandy when you land a nigh-generation talent prospect and is doing a rebuild, but if you don't at least TRY, you're going to negatively impact your future core's development. You can't expect to put a 19 year old kid in the line up, saddle him up with piles of shit and expect anything good to happen.

Fair, but Celebrini is a much better player than Bedard, and I like the supporting young cast in SJ (Eklund/Smith/Dickinson/Askarov/Musty) much better than Chicago's (Vlasic/Nazar/Moore/Levshunov/Boisvert).

The Sharks are also just playing like they're having fun and it's creating fun results—so much more interesting than the ANA/CHI rebuilds which are low scoring and stifling young offensive players to tighten up defensively.

The big thing about Celebrini over Bedard, or even a Jack Hughes, is that he's actually a centre. Got the size, speed, smarts to stick at C and is already having 55%+ FOW nights with good volume as a teenager. Bodes extremely well for SJS.

I just wish that Yzerman called us first about gifting Walman!

SJ has to turn over that D core. Dumped Benning for Lij. But like 4 others are up by 2026. So, figuring that out will be a challenge to support the kids coming up on D.

Oh yeah I meant to say that San Jose is doing a better job because they probably don't want to risk Celebrini with a slump due to the team just isn't up to par.

And of course I suspect the Chicago Bedards' overall lack of moral compass and any kind of humanity has something to do with Bedard's recent decline in performance. Pure conjecture, of course.

I think the difference is that their supporting veteran cast has been really solid: Wenneberg, Granlund, Toffoli, Walman. Kunin/Sturm/Goodrow have been good reliable bottom 6 presences and then you have Eklund/Zetterlund who already had some NHL experience and are taking a step with the rest of the group.

They are at least entertaining, and probably have the best jersey kits in the league right now. The teal is so good, especially with the helmets teal too.
