Wow! Watching some of the NHL highlights from tonight's action, some of the goaltending was so bad, it was almost laughable.

The Av's for example are just bleeding goals right now with Georgiev and Annunen (who's he?)....meantime the Canes are trying to survive with waiver wire pickup Spencer Martin between the pipes. And Rittich in L.A. was bleached for seven goals by the lowly Sharks.

I guess the Canucks might eventually have a goaltender to deal. Maybe they can take advantage of a desperate team.

If they deal a goaltender they'll end up in the same position as these teams.

That outcome is likely to be far more valuable than whatever the 2027 4th becomes - and that would still take nearly a decade from now to even reap the "reward".
It’s fine to have one or even two of those players in your line up

Problem is Dubas love acquiring this type of player like their candies

Sure. I agree with that point in general. Typically there isn't a big reward for blindly acquiring the Sea of Granlund.

But my argument, that I made in the original post you replied to (which you apparently cannot understand this point), is that this particular player (Tomasino) is intriguing to me in this kind of transaction, for various reasons.

If this were Linden Vey, I would not have the same opinion.

I think Tomasino is what he is at this point

A "Sea of Granlund" as organizational depth is actually quite valuable. The issue with it in Vancouver was the price paid (both in acquisition cost and salary) for it. The Tomasino acquisition is neither. Would have loved that addition in Vancouver - even if he never improved he's an upgrade on Bains/Sasson/Hoglander on the 4th line.

I don't disagree but I wouldn't pay a 4th for a player that is going to be treated like Hoglander. I wonder if we were even interested.

Skinner for Team Canada in any role is idiotic. He's only in consideration because the overrated Oilers are the beneficiaries of all these dumb media narratives and he's associated with that misinformation.

WJC doesn't count, none of the top contenders like Binnington or Hill have done anything good for the national team since they were teenagers. Binnington was actively bad for the World Cup team and that is a much weaker tournament.

At times like this, try out the new blood, Thompson is hot, they should pick him on form. If they absolutely have to pick one of the widely circulated candidates, Hill as 3rd goalie is fine because at least he's done something recently and has shown he can thrive in the right defensive system. Talbot is hot but a bit too old, but I'd rather pick someone who is good now rather than past potential. Ideally we could have someone who is currently at the top of their game and who has won in pressure situations in the past but that's not in the cards this time.

Nurse Myers
Skinner

Head Coach: Green

Let's just take all the media darlings and put them up for viewing.

Screams gold medal, baby.
