Good result! Don't care if Vegas wins the division. Our prize for winning 1st last season was the longest air mile travel of all the playoff teams. Get 2nd, and you stay within your division.

Would be interesting if the 1st seeds for each division can pick which team they want to play in the 1st round. That would be spicy.
i would love to see a 2 -2 -3 format. None of the 5-6-7 back and forth for 1 game and home ice means more

Only twice in the last 20yrs has the 7 game series averaged more than 6 games so it's basically even up for teams that finished worse over 82 games. Reward the regular season get rid of the excess travel. It's physically punishing enough no need to add a massive amount of air and time travel especially unfair for Western teams

Oh heck no, let Vegas and Edmonton battle it out in the first round. Rather take one of the wild card teams over those two any day. Who cares about travel, give me the higher probability of advancing any day.

I noticed Devon Toews falling off some fantasy teams.

Devon Toews has no goals , 2 assists and minus 6 and 4 hits.

Filip Hronek has no goals, 3 assists and plus 8 and 24 hits.

I remember when these comparisons were made back then, many Canucks fans, if not the majority said Toews was better. (The other is always better. The guy not on your team that you don't watch every night is always better)

I've also noticed some whining recently about Hronek not being flashy enough. At least he's a plus player and can hit. And he's having more team success as well.

Preds and Oil lost.

Nice.
All the off-season chatter about how the Jets were falling out and the Preds and Oilers would be dominant, and after a dozen games it's not shaking out that way at all. I don't know how many of you listen to Kouleas on SiriusXM, but he basically wrote off the Jets and was pumping Preds and Oilers tires all of September.

Watching Ovechkin's march to the goal record has been nostalgic. If his early career/prime was played in this era I'm pretty confident he would've come close to breaking single season goal records as well.

The Caps being good is a slight bonus because it looks like he's having fun again.

As noted by the celebration a few posts earlier on the none goal 😆

Holloway, Broberg and McLeod--all former Oiler first rounders, who had to get out of Dodge to revive their NHL careers.

'Player Development' is just such a vital factor in a franchise's success these days.

You can say that again!

Also proof the Sportsnet panel is delusional. After that game ended they were showing "highlights" as to why Skinner deserves to be on team Canada. I'm not even kidding...

Canada’s goaltending is abysmal, hence why the conversation is really centering around guys like Skinner and Binnington. I don’t even know who a third guy in the conversation would be right now. Looked like it might be Adin Hill for a minute a couple of seasons ago, and Connor Ingram had a nice season last year, but is off to a rough start this year.

But if a turtle derby for the gig. We’re going to end up with whoever is sucking the least at that point. Compared with the goaltending that the USA is going to get, Canada’s offense is going to need to compensate hard.
