I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a look at PP1 right away there, in a spot that's been a major problem for Minnesota for several years.
II would bet almost no money that Jiricek is going to take that job way from Faber (he wasn't even PP2 for CBJ and their man advantage is worse than the wilds') and once Biuim gets there, forget about it.

Adam Gaudette thriving under the same coach that many here claimed, ruined his development.
Gaudette more victim of Benning. Not ready for the nhl when he left college. Needed time to work on his game as his defensive game was weak and his offensive game would not offset bad defense.

But due to a lack of C depth, he got rushed into the nhl.

I don’t understand the point of this article I was expecting to see the roster. Who cares if it’s finalized if I can’t see it it.

He still sucks he is just shooting 40%, highest in the NHL.

Matheson is such garbage. Directly responsible for three goals against and almost a couple more and the games only half over.

Idk if MSL lasts the week (month, year) let alone the rest of the season, I think the habs roster is trash but every game looks like a fire drill, bleeding chances constantly.

Matheson and Savard were their 2 veteran Dmen in a sea of kids.
Guhle had 114 games, then Barron in the 90's, X in the 80's, Struble under 40, Hutson, Mailloux raw rookies.

Just a terrible job of the GM Hughes for not doing something to bolster the blueline to help the kids develop. Guess he figured those who had some experience were just going to get better without a good partner to play with.

We played Gaudette full time when he was as small and weak as Lekk is right now. It ruined his development as a player.

It’s why I’m happy Lekk is down in the AHL right now developing the right way. You give guys like this a taste, let them see where they’re lacking, then send them back down.

Really happy with how the Canucks have worked on developing guys like Sasson, Bains, Lekk, Raty, etc. Reminds me of how we used to do things with the Moose.

Chicago Bedards lost again, at least Bedard himself caught a goal and an assist.

So putting a fresh rookie with a bunch of utterly useless players backed by a despicable shit stain of an organization is not working out? Definitely didn't see that coming.

Still waiting on an everyday nhl roster guy to make it full time from the A. Hopefully Raty and Lekky do that.

Benning and co, no adoption for sports science. Guy had bloodwork done and as a result had to adjust his diet to put on and maintain weight.

That's fair. For me, I'd rather the Canucks go for more of a sure thing if we're giving up a prospect, 1st, and 2nd.
Canucks need long term solutions. So, anyone they get, they need to be able to sign and fit into their roster for a couple of years at least. Hogs is the team's last drafted and developed player and he appears on the outs. If/when he goes, it's down to Hughes as the last one.

Despite Jiricek's issues, he's still a massively better prospect than anything they'll get with the assets they gave up, and is pretty much a dead lock to be an NHL player of some sort.

It wasn't the right move for us to be making but it's a very nice value deal for Minnesota.

But those picks could wind up being a prospect like Jiricek!

Good for Gaudette to have some success but he's going for the Cy Young award right now. Shooting 36% which will regress hard at some point and when it does he will revert back to the AHL player he is.

The most efficient shooters in the game top out at around 20% over the long term. For example Draisatl is typically somewhere around 19-21% each season and he is likely the most efficient shooter in the world. Mostly because of the PP setups from McDavid. Point and Reinhart are a couple of others with routinely high SH% the last handful of season. Hell Reinhart is actually shooting ~25% over his last 100 games! I don't believe Gaudette is one of those guys all of sudden....

Minny likely looking at it as we are about to come off these 4 years of buyout. Kaprizov can be extended in the summer. Let's make a push vs wait 3-4 years for that late 2025 1st to make the NHL. Reward the likes of Spurgeon, Brodin, Ek, Kaprizov, etc. who stuck it out through the buyouts and make a push, while they still have something left.

Have not followed Minny, but know MAF is retiring. So, is Wallstedt going to be ready next season or do they need a starter?
