NHL season should totally start in September. This is stupid.
NHL overlaps with other sports, so regardless of when it begins, it will overlap with MLB playoffs, NBA tip off and playoffs, NFL and NCAA football season, March madness NCAA basketball.
Even the NFL at some point will get to 18 games in regular season, meaning their schedule adds 2 more weeks for the regular season game and a bye week, so taking it from like Feb 7-13 to 21-27.
The NHL is so absurdly paranoid about putting any games against any other league that they essentially stretch out the season by a full extra month at the expense of alienating all of their current existing fans.
I don't watch hockey anymore in June. Nobody I know does. It's just so incredibly self-defeating.
Season should start on October 1 at the latest and be done by May 31.

Next month is a wild football month with the UEFA Champions League Finals, Euro Cup and Copa America. Most Americans will probably be watching replays of the Euro Cup games over hockey.
You do wonder what they do for 2026. The Winter Olympics and the All Star Break will push hockey into mid-late June and this league will have to contend with the World Cup....

I just looked up Clendenning, I had no idea we only got 17 games out of that scrub. I thought he played like 60+ games for us.

Rangers don't deserve to win, they pull the goalie and Zibanedjad and Kreider just coasting around casually. Absolutely f***ing brutal.

All they had to do was keep it in the zone before they half assed it before the empty netter. You play like that, you should lose.
I should note that without Gudas Florida doesn't seem to be as idiotic after the whistles. Or maybe the ranger are just so passive that it doesn't matter and they don't have to do anything.

Honestly I feel bad for him. I don't think the Rangers have the balls to go all the way. Dumba is a cheap shot artist who seems a step behind these days. If not for Lafreniere and Trochek this series is over already. Crazy that Panarin is basically boat anchoring that line.

I think Panthers roll over everyone right about now. They are stacked and playing well. Take Igor away from Rags and it's a sweep for Cats. They are a joy to watch as well.
