And yet it almost certainly works out for Florida because of the brother connection and because he's just another cog in the machine and not the savior he'd get asked to be in some other places.

It actually works out worse. They paid a lot for a guy that isnt worth it and clearly only wanted to go play with his bro.

I see it as the other side. Quinn is there now and he can be convinced but Guerin has to go out and get some guys
But Guerin isn’t the on submitting their trade lists, it’s the players.

I don’t disagree that Quinn is waiting it out to see but that alone line’s up with what we’re saying.

I know Guerin isnt submitting trade lists. What Im saying is Quinn is telling these players hey come here and I will sign BUT he isnt decided on the team as is if they dont make moves

Its why Guerin tried to get Luke. Its why he will try to get all these USA guys. Cuas ehe knows he needs something to convince Quinn

But if you are Quinn what does this say? We are in such a shit spot and we cant get any of these guys who want to play with you
They’ve literally only missed out on one guy so far. And it’s the guy who went to go play with his brother. Florida were almost certainly his first choice.

I don’t disagree with that but it doesn’t go against the original point at all

That's an INSANE return for Brady. Massive overpayment, smart on the Sens.

It's a massive win for Ottawa. Brady is an overrated 'star'. He's good but not worth that return.

Names do not equal Stanley Cups. If you don't have a strong pipeline, you aren't winning diddlysquat. Florida could very well end up like Edmonton and blow two years of making it to the dance.

You need depth and solid goal tending to win cups. Florida is more cap strapped with this move, so depth will become a major issue moving forward and their aging starter wants a six - seven year contact.

I don't think they are the big winners of this trade, and I wouldn't have wanted Sunny to make any sort of comparison to it.

I’m hoping so as well. My hope is that they don’t swing a Larkin deal or something because I’d be a great deal more concered.
I just dont see how they can. They cant trade Wallstedt or Gustavsson. They are up against the cap as is. They have 1 good young piece.

Larkin is a better player (put up more points L2 years and better defensively) then Brady at a more premium position.

I dont think MIN has what it takes to make a deal like this happem

My biggest question is does Stevie Y have a backbone. If he does, Minnesota and Larkin are in a tough spot.

If not... Well, we'll see how it plays out
