Holland was right though. There weren’t any trade deadline players that could be added to be a big difference. The team is obviously flawed beyond a quick fix, trading for Hall or Savard or anybody else would have been a waste of assets. It’s not like they suddenly would have been good if they traded a second for Eric Staal.

Jeff Carter has been pretty good for the Pens, and only costs two conditional picks...a 3rd and a 4th.

Would have made zero difference for that team imo. They aren’t a contender so inserting a few moderately talented players at the end of the season wouldn’t make a difference. Team is disjointed.

Trade Nylander and multiple firsts. A Marner-Matthews-Mcdavid line would be unstoppable.

as much as this would be crazy good, i am thinking McDavid is line 1 with whoever can keep up with him (Mikheyev and Hyman maybe lol), Matthews Marner line 2

you can do the McDavid Matthews Marner line on the PP exclusively or in OT when you need a goal urgently like in a Game 7 situation

He's a veteran and a multiple Cup champion...and I think he would have made a difference to that team and didn't costs an arm and a leg.

He would have skated around and done pretty much nothing for the oilers. The pens are an excellent team where everybody buys in. Carter is seeing a resurgence in that environment.

Am I the only one that hates Oilers fans but feel bad for them if they get swept?

I'd say it's because I've been there as a Leafs fan, but I'm not sure it's ever been THAT bad.

I have to watch it though, I swear I'm not a bad person and I know it's not over......

Weird! Was not expecting that and maybe they'll come back.

Must See TV.

I would personally enjoy it greatly

Tired of all their arrogance during the regular season

I’ve got no sympathy. They’ve been the absolute worst bunch of the Canadian fan bases this season. Just completely classless all year and have some serious issues as a group based on how they act in their Around the League thread. Like I appreciate good schadenfreude too but they take it to the Nth degree.

Yeah he was on the bench chewing about something. The announcers said Puljujarvi wouldn't make eye contact with him. The announcer went on to say many players have differences with their teamates.

is he playing well? McDavid i mean?

And even after they do that ITS HARD AS HELL TO WIN. Because all the other teams are trying just as hard.

Edmonton has done crap all to ice a decent team around McDavid. They have bad contracts. Their backup makes 4 mil a year. They starter is 40 years old.

it’s first overall after first overalls. Down the drain.
You do it to keep mcdavid happy so he doesnt demand a trade.

I mean the comments that Draisatl made yesterday says it all. 4 goals should win you a game
Clearly McDavid and Drai are not too happy with their teammates

He was on the ice for both Jets goals. He does his usual thing race up the ice and make s nice passes. Scored a goal. All offense no D. And I must say any game I've seen him play, he always plays with Draisaitl even though Oilers fans tell us they play on separate lines
