Kadri with the failed dangle turnover then gets rooked by a tug'n'slingshot and loses his man for the tying goal.

Didn't think Cale Makar would be this amazing. His 4-way skating is the best I've seen in the league. Can't believe the Sens got fleeced so hard

That was the Byram pick so not quite as bad. Makar was the pick where Colorado lost the lottery and dodged the Patrick-Hischier bullet.

Makar is like the McDavid of defensemen.

Admittedly, I haven't watched the Avs in a while.

DAMN is Landeskog a BEAST or what? Dude has elite skill but the motor and the physicality is great too. That was an entertaining game. Grubaur is also very calm in net.

That whole d-core after Makar is also impressive and still young.

Shots in tonight's games 48-39, 38-24, 50-23

Which division has garbage defenses again?

Also Kyle Clifford was completely invisible for the Blues, apart from goonery with Grubaur (lol) at the final whistle.

Doesn't help Lou gifted them Toews. Byram hasn't even hit anything near his potential. that team will be a problem for a while

It all started with them getting lucky with Mackinnon sucking in a contract year.

Saving like 5 million per season on the player is just insane. That amount would have us essentially removing Brodie from our roster.

Yeah it'll be interesting what happens with them this summer. Makar/Grubauer/Landeskog all needing new contracts. Lucky enough they have Girard/Toews locked up on sweetheart deals.

They've had an interesting history. They bottomed out years ago allowing them to draft Mackinnon, Landeskog, and Duchene ... They then started seeing some success with that group, before that core bottomed out again. Allowed them to draft Rantanen and Makar. Then then decide to mix up the core and move Duchene following this failure, which they got a bit lucky that Ottawa bottomed out so hard and it turned into Byram. So as the team got better, they also get another elite piece in the mix.

This is all while Sakic is running the show, learning on the fly.

Basically they've had two separate periods of bottom feeding, but with a little retool (of one major core piece) that allowed they to draft their current core.

As you said they got lucky that Mackinnon had a slower start to his career (compared to most superstars) and got him on a sweetheart deal.

Kind of a shame the cap is in play because it'd be fun to see how good that team could be if they could keep all of their stars in the long run.

That was my thought as well. But what else is new? I don't think any team in the NHL gets away with the amount of crap the Bruins do.
i missed a few mins and heard them talking about a Marchand spear that went uncalled ...can anyone shed some details?

Their tying goal involved one of the forecheckers (I only saw 7, so it could have been Debrusk or McAvoy) barreling through the crease and knocking Andersen over, and then Hall digging the puck out from under him and flipping it in. It was blatant uncalled goalie interference, but that's par for the course when it comes to Boston.

I believe it was McAvoy but I would hardly call it barreling but he did cause Anderson to slide a bit leaving the puck free for Hall to tap it in. Caps unfortunately not willing to risk the challenge.

What killed me was Marchant non intentioanlly intentionaly pushing his stick 3x off the face of Mantha (one actually hit the linesman in the side of the head) and both were sent to the box.

The PIT goal did not just happen. I have it on good authority that Andersen is the only goalie in the league that lets in softies like that.:laugh:

Pens all over the isles to start the 1st. The goal they had was a sieve-like one from Varlamov, but they have outplayed them so far. 2 close trips both not called keeping the isles off the penalty box
