PPs were 4-4. 1 of those PPs came on a clear trip in OT and another came on a failed coaches challenge late in the 3rd. Canes scored on both and Vegas didn't score on any of there's. The way she goes.
Clear trip? Sure, it was a trip, just like there were about 30 instances of interference that weren't called. Calling a penalty like that in overtime of the Cup final is unnecessary. It's as bad as 3 on 3 overtime for Olympic gold. Just let them play.

Carolina is a better team on the road (lost all their games this playoffs at home, undefeated on the road)
Vegas is a better team on the road (was undefeated on the road until this game)

If Carolina can go in and take both - it's over.

True but how many times should that interference on Blake should have been called in the playoffs? I don't remember there being this many whistles in other eras.

Stick in between the legs and taking the guy down. Yes, it's a clear trip. A lot you can let go because it does happen 50 times a game, but those kinds of trips don't. If he stepped on his stick then they probably let it go.

I agree. I want less penalties as well. It's why I haven't enjoyed these playoffs as much because I believe it's the most minor penalties called per game since like 2010. That's just one of those tripping penalties I don't think will ever not be called because it was one of the clearest cases of a trip as one can be.

If there's one positive for the Hurricanes it's that Hart hasn't looked this vulnerable all playoffs. He looked in perfect form through 2 periods but uncharacteristically leaky in that 3rd. Against Colorado he looked almost unbeatable.

It was a smart (likely accidental) strategy for Carolina. All series they passed the puck around to get the perfect shot. He would always cheat for the extra pass. Now, they're down 2-0 and they shoot everything at the net while he's cheating for the pass so he gets beat twice. In OT, he anticipates them shooting everything at the net and they once again cheat for the pass.

They got him thinking because they switched their gameplan up due to chasing the game and series. Carolina needs to do both, sometimes take bad shots at the net and sometimes look for the play so the goalie can't anticipate which one you're going to do.

Equally as bad as calling that interference on Carolina to tie the game. They literally let Vegas get away with it last series. That was a 100% game management call and Vegas had twice the PP's that Carolina did. They were going to try to make it look closer.

Good observation. Plus that was a very cheeky fake shot pass that Ghost did too. So maybe not so accidental.

Yes, the penalty against carolina late in the game was equally stupid. Just a ton of unnecessary calls.

I think Carolina probably wins this in 5 or 6 games. I don't think it goes the distance.
