I think Woodfraud gets fired if Oilers lose 2 of their next 3 games on their upcoming road trip.
That’s a big game for them against the Canucks on Monday.Definitely tuning in for that one.
Wonder who they would replace Woody with. I think they need a veteran coach just so he’s not awestruck by McDrai and has the will to implement a new system and demand commitment to it from everyone.

Why can’t people see or accept that both made a lot of mistakes here?
The Marleau and Zaitsev contracts were brutally bad and both cost good assets to clean up. His draft picks outside the first round were also poor leaving it difficult to fill holes with ELC players. He also failed to address a weak Dcore.

Dubas laid out a poor cap structure, overpaid RFA’s and waisted way too many futures on rentals and short term fixes.

Both guys failed here but some people hate Dubas so much they gloss over the problems Lou left.

The both made mistakes. The issue is, by switching them when we did, we got the worst of both worlds.
We let Lou overpay UFA, because thats what he alway did and when it came to playing hard ball with RFAs - something he got a track record for. We switched to Dubas who overpaid RFA.

My main point wasn't about Dubas overpaying RFAs and Lou overpaying UFAs. I think Lou was the better choice for kids' development as opposed to your friendly GM Kyle.

Lou was mean on kids, because he demanded they attend meetings in suits and come to ring shaved. What a bully, glad he is gone, they might by accident catch some manners or god forbid learn some discipline.

Best Lamoriello has done in the Cap Era, is make the finals.
One of the players he had on that team is on their books until end of the 2024-2025 season.
Dubas has won 1 round of the playoffs.

Has Lamoriello won anything without Brodeur? Curious, did Brodeur play all their Cup wins? Trying the remember if he was injured one year? Always good to get a top notch goaltender. Of course Scott Stevens in the headshot era, and Kurvers Niedermayer didn't hurt. He's pretty good shape in goal on Long Island as well.

Somehow made it a minute in and then the cringe was too much.

I can't get myself to play it, it got cringe warning in the title. IN SC we trust?

Come one, it had to go bad if this is how you named it.

The Kurvers delete is classic, that one still hurts all these years later………

Genuinely amazed that Carrick is still in the NHL and has actually carved out a long pro career for himself. Has to be one of the most obscure careers in NHL history. Good for him

Are you not amazed at?

Yeah ...

So, if prime age Kaberle was on the team today, he'd be their best defender? What do you think?
Yup, but Kaberle wasn’t even their best defender back then, lots of quality D men from the Kaberle years……..

I agree, was was probably a 2nd. pairing defender, but he could move the puck, and pass. And yes, this current team is so in need of defenders. IMO, even when healthy, not a #1 amongst them.
